So, I’m looking at a 256% ribcracker, IK maul, windhammer, buriza, and messersmhidt.
The best rune I’ve EVER found is a pul. I am running around with an anti-rune forcefield and it works GREAT….
Should I respec my stats for one of these heftier uniques or upgrade a bad ribby on this lesser played class?
Upped and shaeled the ribcracker is going to be best for bosses, the windhammer with a shael will be best trash clear damage and second best boss damage, unless you also are wearing IK belt boots gloves and chest then 2x shael IK maul will out dps it, but you won’t have LL price from dracul gloves
Once you hit endgame gear the best wrap combo you’ll find for fury Druid is EBOTD Great Poleaxe with Chains of Honor, but you will still want to swap to ribcracker for ubers
Thanks for the advice. I’ve been doing some viewing of Ribcracker prices and differences in actual damage, and the 256 I have looks like the upgrade won’t be a waste of resources. I SHOULD be able to replace the pul doing a dozen or so cow runs daily on the sorc. Should. Hrs don’t exist lol. Time to get crackin!
No problem! glad to help out any fury druids. I’d say any ribby over 250 is ‘ok’ to up, my personal one is 293. You’re not really looking for the raw damage on it, most of your dps from ribcracker comes from the crushing blow.
For armor, you’ll occasionally see people claim fortitude is better for all melee classes, but as a fury druid you’ll do better with COH than fortitude. Fury druid have very little opportunity for all resist outside of their chest and helm, so stick an UM in a jalal and wear COH , then getting even a mediocre torch and anni will take you to 75 all resist in hell.
The 25% FCR on fortitude is a wasted stat for a fury druid. It’s not to say that fortitude isnt nice, but the +2 skill and extra 35 to 40 all resist are really hard to replace for a fury druid. With BOTD and COH i’ve got +300% vs undead and +200% vs demons , not quite as much as the 300% ed to all on fortitude, but then 2 skill is another 35% dmg to every fury too . All that big +defense on fortitude doesnt matter much when you’re moving around a lot to kill instead of standing in place like a hammerdin.
One thing worth mentioning - if you have access to 3 os Tomb Reaver. if I am not mistaken with 2xshael + x you get access for new frames. Also it may have up to 50 res which is quite amazing.
Fort 300 all plus loh 300 demons for 600% dmg to 40+% of the game is still bis.
I can recommend a cheap alternative: Executioner’s Justice. You can get one for a few Perfect Gems or even for free as nobody uses it.
I used a Ribcracker until i was high enough to equipt my Axe. Put a Shael Rune in it and the Attack Speed is as good as Ribcrackers but with 3 times the Damage. (As i had the Axe already, i did not upgrade my Ribcrakcer.)
You still have a high chance for crushing blow and can even decripify your Enemies, what results in 50% less phisical resistances for your enemies and increases your Damage even further. Also decripify can remove Physical immunities in most of the cases. Stoneskin + Physical immunies are most of the time still physical immune after decripify hit them. The reduced Attack Speed and Movement Speed of Enemies come on the top to increase your survivability even more.
My Merc also uses the Reapers Toll, that can also apply decripify but the Merc is kind of slow compared to the Fury Druid and most of the time can’t keep up with me so being able to decripify myself really helps.
Beating uber Tristram with this Weapon is also no problem but Executioner’s Justice tends to overcast Life Tap from your Draculs Grasp quite often, what can be problematic sometimes, but is not really a concern as you can overcast decripify also again. If you run Dracul’s Grasp in normal gameplay also it does not matter which curse is active as both are really great.
Upped sheal’d ribcracker is bis for pve. Grief pb is bis for pvp.
Is ribcracker better than an eth colossus blade botd? My upped ribcracker is like 250-437. My colossus blade is 455-887!! However, I don’t completely understand how crushing blow works. Is it simply double damage? Because if that is the case, the eth colossus blade base damage is already double that of an upgraded ribcracker.
CB cut off 25% of current mob health ignore any resistances but half effective on bosses and champs … from practical stand point of view with very fast attack and enough CB you will chop down any mob down to last 15% in blink of eye… finishing them off … that is different story you will need OW (open wounds)
Simply saying consider CB as single target melee version of Static Field
