For myself this is my first ladder, so I am thinking of starting with a sorc.
Due to teleport, in the end 50%+ will be sorc.
About 25% will be Paladin.
Some Javazons,…10 to 20% will be Druid, Assa, Necro…Barb
Hopefully it will change in the future. Has been like this for 20 years.

You may be right but I think people are underestimating the 2.4 bump to Find Item via Find Potion Synergy. Zerk Barbs are going to be extremely strong thanks to that and given they also changed Berserk synergy to Battle Orders and can fear enemies with Howl, they’re pretty darn strong in both SC and HC as a result. Plus they’re the only class that effectively kills monsters “twice”. Yeah they won’t have Teleport but Leap is pretty viable.

Also @darkhelmet - With 20 in frenzy plus increase stamina, i plan to have 10 seconds of lightning fast run speed (requires 10 in increased stamina for +4 seconds).
The getting is good for barbs atm. Throw barbs are bang in fashiopn and highly viable. lets see some community love.

The class that can teleport and the most op class otherwise are the majority of league starters.
So nothing much has changed in that regard.
The only way it will ever change is if teleport is made less mandatory OP, in that either massively increased mana or a next cast delay so you can’t spam it endlessly to ignore the game’s map layout itself.
At some point, the only way to balance Diablo 2 to make other classes more sought after is to nerf things. Which most players really get butthurt when anyone brings up the elephant in the room that is teleport.

Paladin here. Start with Holy Fire, end with Zeal/Fana. With new Dclone method, want a decent character to get Annis with once the first set of spawns happen. Bowazon second, and Sorc will be third and last on Ladder, for some of the more targeted farming and keys.
Hoping to plan for hoarding some Pgems and trading to crafters early on for Lightsabre, maybe a Tiamats as well until I can afford or find a HoZ. Trade up to Azurewrath after 85.
