OK I am now on nightmare and am not getting hardly any runes, and the ones I am getting are not the good ones. I have made a few Countess runes and only got mid runes. am LvL 61. Where do I go to get some GOOD runes? Many Thanks for any replies.
A5 into Hell is where you want to be. TRAV A3 Hell is the best for runes, countess for regulsr

Low runes drop in normal, mid runes drop in NM and high runes drop in Hell. You want to farm countess on P1 always, because she has better drops on P1. You can and should run Kurast on P7 when you’re strong enough.

Are you playing online of offline?
Good advice except he is in no position to be even able to farm these places. Chaos sanctuary is hard place to clear for character without good equip and high level.
offline and I am not familiar with the P1,TRAV A3, Kurast on P7 areas these mean. 1st time I have made it to HELL level. Thanks for the HELPFULL advice. LOL
Been farming casually for a couple weeks now on an alt. A basically ungeared hammerdin.
Going from level 76 to 89 I’ve found 6x Pul, 2x Um, 5x Mal, Gul, Jah, Cham.
Doesn’t seem THAT bad. Also found a couple other goodies like a few Gheed’s, a couple light facets, 9-10 skillers, a couple quad resist +2 skill ammys, Shako, 2x Cat’s Eyes, and a butt load of 19-20 + life/whatever charms and 6-7% MF charms, and a decent CL Ormus.
Maybe it’s been 3 weeks, haven’t been keeping track, but also haven’t been playing every day or all that much really.
:edit: a few runs latter for a +1 combat pally charm with +22 life. 
Sorry I was unclear but thanks for the info. I meant I was wondering what the abbreviations were ? I.E. P1,TRAV A3, Kurast on P7

In probably 100 pindle/ AT/Cow runs on hell with my blizz sorc 220%mf I’ve completed maybe 10 isenharts sets, 2 sigons sets, found over 10 sparking mail’s and around 5 each of Tal/Ral/Shael/Amn and Ort runes. Highest rune I found so far was one Lum.

Ghosts, Wisps and Fingermages also have better rune drops, because their loot table is smaller.

Hell Trav over and over for man hundreds of runs. Doing a combo runes/mf/gf farm. Around 400MF, 800GF, and council has a naturally high rune drop rate. That said gotten VERY lucky on the runes. A pretty solid haul.
Really starting to wonder if they didn’t get some off the drop rates on runes off on council or something. That’s in the order of 8x what I’d expect to have gotten. First Cham I’ve personally gotten in 2 decades of d2… found quite a few ber/jah over the years, and a couple Zods but never a cham for w/e reason.

The highest rune I’ve seen drop during all of D2R’s existence is an Ist. And that was a hellforge. High runes are very very rare.

Damn bro, really? I’m relatively casual and have found several Surs, Los, Ohms, Vexes, even a Ber. And while yes they’re rare, they’re much less rare now than they used to be (not specific to D2R but when they changed rune drops to drop far more frequently, relatively)
Yeah I’ve had awful RNG on runes. Hopefully ladder will be different!
