for the past 3 days now or so there has been zero High Rune drops or any decent rare or unique drops. whats going on? we have been doing everything there is to offer in games with players 3 or better and still have not seen a single good drop? is anyone else having this happen? this is very disappointing and the game is getting very boring now.

Gambling has losers sometimes. Perhaps you’ve been losing for a few days now. Winning could be around the corner. Just gotta keep rolling the dice.

Hey I’ve been playing hours each day since launch. 2 x Um are best I’ve found from MFing. Yesterday i self rushed my other account and I got an Ist rune off hell hellforge so I guess that’s something. Still ain’t no Jah or Ber 
RNG for life.
Every time someone complains on the forums, the drop rate is nerfed by 0.001%, and as you can see, there’s been a LOT of complaining.

MF does not effect runes. U can have 600% MF and it will not increase these drops.

3 days is hardly a bad streak. 7 to 10 is where i start to raise eyebrows.
is there a reason why i’m getting normal difficulty trash off of hell mode more frequently the last few days.
Although I will say 3 days is not much, I’ve been grinding for a month straight now (don’t even want to add the hours up) but I’m also struggling with runes. That’s just how it is. For low to mid you go to the countess. For high runes there are spots like Trav, Frigid, WSK, etc but goodluck on that.
I’m one of the players whose in favor of adding a type of event to give players a chance of a high rune or a boost in drop rates on non-ladder but then you’ll find someone who already has found 2-3 high runes and just because they have good RNG they think the drop rate is fine. The main issue I have is that chances for high runes are in the hundreds of thousands and even million depending on area/monster type.
Considering you can get a chart to lvl 90 in a couple days, it just seems like a tad too much in terms of grinding. Perhaps this was an enjoyable system 20 years ago but I’ll admit the rose tinted glasses are off. Now for anyone else that is a D2 puritan, this is of course sacrilege to even suggest.
Another issue I have with the game. Doing Andy, Meph, Diablo, and Baal runs to find a pair of Goblin Toes. Normal items need to stay in normal imo. Again, it’s just the complete rng of D2.

I know that…it is still MFing if you are running around trying to find stuff regardless of runes or items.

Welcome to the world of rng, she can be a cruel mistress or a loving mother. There will be times of feasts and famine. Unlike D3 where great loot rains from the sky. This game you have to earn it by doing many runs to get what you want.
MF does not affect rune drops. You have to find places with a lot of density and have a good kill speed in order to get runes to drop.
Normal items drop because even they can be useful. There are cube recipes that can take normal items and make them exceptional. Then turn exceptional to elite.
Yes it is called Rng, D2 the chase isn’t pargon like D3. It is the loot you are chasing after that is why you need to put in the time to farm it.
never said MF affected rune drops, isn’t the act of going around finding stuff called “MFing” regardless of if it is a rune or item that drops?
MF’ing is for actually increasing your chance to find magic items. When you are wanting runes you don’t need MF. Just a good strong build with good kill speed and hit the high density like I said. This is not like D3 where you are speedy farming GRs for loot. There is a difference between farming for runes and MF’ing to find better gear.

ok but i don’t think you get what i’m saying… i am magic finding, MFing, i am just looking for items, don’t care if either runes or uniques. i thought that is what the act of magic finding means just looking for items in general. if magic finding doesnt mean that i’ll stop saying that but i never said the better chance of getting magic items stat affected rune drop rates lol

Only 3 days? Been playing D2R since day one, the only HR I’ve found is a Ber and the next one down is a Um.
I haven’t had anything higher than a Lem for more than a month now!
