Where are the patch notes?

i was lead to the forums frontpage, but see the patch notes nowhere. i’d like to quetion why they’d bother release a patch at all without fixing mana burn???

Like seriously…???

Stickies at the top.

EDIT: Also, fixing things like this are almost certainly not a priority at the moment.

well your mana does get burnt working as intended?

indeed, it shouldnt be burning for over 10k mana though, thats where the problem lies lol

All we’ve really gotten are the stickied threads with a date and a very high level/general information about patches, which I’m personally pretty disapointed with.

Most of those patches have just been for “server” or “game” stability. Sometimes “bugs” are mentioned but never any specifics.

I’m hoping once the server’s are stable enough to remove the game time limit and queues and the majority of game crashing things are fixed, they can actually get into the game bugs that have seemingly fell by the wayside.

There’s issues with the advanced character stats page (mana regen not updating for “soft” Warmth points, some dual wield oddities), merc’s stat page (aura display information changing with difficulty and not displaying the actual aura properly. Most of those are seemingly visual but without any dev response we’re left to wonder and test ourselves.

There’s also bugs that are more annoying and detrimental to game play, such as many auras given by items cycling on and off causing you to only receive the benefit part time, Cain not IDing things in the Cube like he did in Legacy, Cain being at his LoD release location in Act 5 instead of moving by WP, etc.

There’s also things going on with -%Reqs for mercs which may or may not be display only. Also seems like something is going on with strength bonuses from gear not allowing you to equip or get full benefit from some items (not strength bugging, but keeping the item that grants the bonus equipped).

Then there’s some of the QoL things they added that I feel could use an adjustement.
Auto Gold pickup radius/timing is such that it often doesn’t pickup gold from chests/clickables unless you purposely wait around or circle back to it, which almost defeats the purpose of the option. You can’t pickup gold while WW, but that is probably a conscious design/balance choice, but sort of sucks for WW barbs.

I also wish the advanced stat screen would display “total” and “applied” mana and life leach based on difficulty level similar to how the resistances on the main page show you what’s active in the current difficulty level, but if you hover over the number you can see the total resistance bonuses that you have. Since NM cuts leach effectiveness in half and Hell reduces it to 1/3rd, it would be cool to actually see those “internal game” reduced numbers at a glance on the page, then hover over to see the total bonuses, like resistances.

Then there’s all the bugs from Legacy D2 that came over as still an issue, of which I think man burn would fall under. I think the issue with that one is that it’s seemingly working as intended, but the way the mechanic instantly burns your mana bulb regardless of how large it is when an enemy breaths on you just doesn’t seem well balanced, so I think many people would like to see a re-work in that area.

I saw a post about it and laughed then realised he might be on to something. Not sure if I just ran into a lot of mana burn after reading his postings…

The guy who complained about shako looking like a bogey was not wrong either lol they got the colour wrong on the most common hat in the game lol

pfffft wtf do you mean most common hat in the game? i’ve never seen one drop

I finally found mine yesterday :stuck_out_tongue:

SSF bleh I was so tempted to trade for one but it dropped in the end, my mf blizz sorc is pretty much completed now.

IMO a sorc isnt complete before she got 200 fcr and res capped regardless of her specialty :stuck_out_tongue:
Skillers and such things like defence are secondary and only for extreme completionists… I rly dont get the need for perfect defence on a shako, its defence discrepency is about 50 points and for a caster, that doesnt really mean anything… ofcourse thats assuming you put it on one…

I thought I just imagined he use to be near WP thank you for providing conclusive proof I’m not insane I’ll let my shrink know we cancel all future appointments

lol, yea it wasnt the mandela effect

Hah! Yeah I don’t know the exact patch he moved and was too lazy to look it up (1.09 or 1.10 I think?) but he was originally where he is in D2R when LoD launched, but they moved him later as a QoL. Further confusing the issue is that they apparently ONLY did that in Multiplayer/B.net realm play, not Single Player!

wait, does that mean we’re all playing the single player version on battle net then? xD

Oh gosh I never played legacy on bnet I AM GOING INSANE… Brb calling shrink back.

Manaburn bug is not fixed. Melee manaburn monsters still drain 2k+ mana from ES sorceress with one hit. But there is some good news here: it doesn’t remove ES with now (at least, if you have more than 50% mana, not sure, how it works now).

they hit your mana like you got a lvl 1 energy shield active… its complete BS.

Mana burn is pain for melee characters. Usually if I see a mob with it on my barb I just leave them. It reduces me to just auto attacking and chugging health pots. If I try to use mana pot the mana is all gone before it even refills enough to use whirlwind.

Not just the difficulty, but some monster types reduce it as well. Ever wondered why sometimes your life leech doesnt trigger at all? It’s because some monsters are immune to it.
