When I give a rejuvenation pot to my Act 2 merc, I wonder how sincere his “Thanks” response is. Is he being sarcastic? Or, sincere? What does my merc want from me? I even find and give him loot which keeps him safe. I ought not to worry about these things.

Well, their body looks pretty sad on the floor every time you spawn into a game while he’s a corpse.
So, I’m assuming it’s a sincere thanks.
Also, even still, they do their job well. Tank mobs, kill mobs, provide baller auras and have ridiculous names like Pratham and Jemali.

Yeah. I just noticed that this morning. As this is the first time that my merc died. He spawns as dead in town when you create a new game. I do not think that happened in the Legacy games. When seeing the dead corpse in town, I first thought that I died. But, it’s hardcore. Freaked me out a bit.
Carbot animations is the best content on YouTube which is Diablo related. Love them!
