I play single player online.
Two nights ago, I found a Ber rune in the Flayer Jungle but I have not found any waypoint yet for the entire map and I have covered a lot of ground already. For an instant I was torn because if I save, I know that my map progress would reset. But a nanosecond later, i immediately exited and saved to be sure. It’s a Ber!
Question: Does the game save the record of my loot automatically even if I get disconnected immediately after server crash such that when i login again, the loot is still there?
Do you guys save and exit immediately after picking up a good loot?
How does the online game save progress exactly?
Thanks!
I can’t answer your technical questions with certainty but in my experience the game auto-saves pretty regularly based on some events. I think that at minimum it’s every loading screen but there might be additional triggers. Also Blizzard stated that in the event of a server crash you shouldn’t lose more than a few minutes of play.
Since you’re playing solo anyway why are you playing online? Offline mode is so vastly better for solo play, - there are lots of cool features and you never have to worry about online issues.
Fast unlimited muling with something like GoMule.
Lots of mods you can install if you want
Ability to control player count as you wish
reliable way to spawn diabloclone
Static maps that you can change if you wish
Able to pause the game
No lag, disconnect etc what everyone else is experiencing
…Just to name a few things that come to mind.
Thanks for your reply. I play online because my friends might play again. I want the option to play with them.
If your friends end up playing again, just start new characters with them and enjoy the journey together. At least that’s what I do with my friends who rarely play. I don’t need to have my stash of great items to play with them. And I think it’s more fun to be on even footing with them. But that’s just me.
