What's your favourite music in the game?

For me, it’s the Harem music in Act 2. It’s a shame the area is over with within five minutes. What’s yours?

Didn’t like any of it or did you turn it off early so haven’t heard most of it? There is some areas I disable it where I don’t like it.

at this point i can’t remember. all i know is that whenever i hear those trumpets on the main screen i HAVE to turn it off. lol.

but a big reason why diablo 2 and starcraft 2 are my favorite games is because you can listen to your own music while playing them.

Yeah, when farming my own music gets me into ‘the zone.’ Lets me watch something or listen to an audiobook too.

The caves soundtrack from act1. Best diablo music score so far (havent played/heard 4s, but I doubt it will be better). While d1 ones scores are classic and great in their own right, this one is just perfection and fits the game(s) like a glove.

Do you mean the music that plays in areas like the Den of Evil?

Yep, thats the one /

I’ve turned off the in game music in basically every game that has had the feature, and outright muted games where I couldn’t since the early 90’s. Hell I remember muting my old 19’’ RCA while playing Dragon Warrior on the NES back in 1990/91 because of the repetitive music.

While I don’t “hate” music I’m just not the kind of guy that can listen to a song on loop. Hell I rarely listen to the same song more than a handful of times in a year.

Also why I’m not big on games that use audio queues in general. Most of the time I have the sound either muted, or as low as it can go.

I just searched it on YouTube, 100% this is so good.

The soundtrack for D4 is completely generic and forgettable.

Cant comment on d4, since I stayed out of it (for now…now been perhaps a year or two lol)

But IMHO if we put aside the d1 soundtracks that are what diablo is about (soundwise at least), then I believe its the best track in the series, closely followed by the Harem one as the OP pointed out. I cant even remember the music from D3.

The Tristram theme is my favorite. Even after years of playing this game and listening to those opening chords I still enjoy that song. I like the Act V music also.

I turn off the music and listen to metal. :metal:

|.,…lø,.lø,-lø vbnmCaves is high up there for ghbn memorable

I had to wipe my keyboard because I spilled coffee. HA.
But like I said, Caves are extremely memorable.

…along with Tristram:

…the owly flute parts and sounds that sound almost like weird animals…
The layers of calm music next to unnerving alien stringwork, where different instruments present different tones and directions, fighting for control of the “narrative”.

Nerve, tension, periods of calmness, resolve, sadness, despair…

Ice Caves is also memorable, though I wish it had more wind chimes.

U2 first three songs of the Joshua Tree.

Turned off the music after a few playthrus and started listening to CDs 20 years back.

OTOH, the music of Guild Wars still makes me smile. Sometimes I even just listen to it on youtube. It’s that good.

Definitely first menu music from D2Classic.

Diablo 2 is one of the few games I really enjoy the music of. Other such games being Half life 2, the Halo series, and most recently Trepang2 (an absolute gem of an indie game, highly recommend)

With D2 though, My favorite is probably the act1 wilderness theme, especially the guitar bit, starting at 5:11

The Tristram soundtrack gave me the feels when I first heard it (after having played D1 for over a year), but the Act 5 town music is my favorite. I like the somber feel to it.

Although, after first hitting the worldstone chamber and hearing the menu music (it took me many alts and many many hours to finally reach it for the first time) I did get a shiver :grinning:

The harem sountrack is nice. I cannot imagine playing this game without the music. I dislike you, BadHabits. You are as bad as the people I see walking around the neighborhood without a dog.
