You are unlucky. I got 9 items left on grail (thought it was 6 so i might have misspoken in an earlier thread)
And i recently crossed arreats on the list. I actually found 2 griffons, 1 death web, 3 death fathom before arreats.
Funny how RNG works sometimes. I found ~20 mavinas diadems before i found my first griffon.
For you math experts out there, is there a difference between 1/1000 and 2/2000? Regarding the odds of sets vs uniques? I am a total math rookie, so for me they read the same
Until you no longer need it you’ll never find one. Once you have it they’re as common as mana pots.
I think the only item that I haven’t found is tyreals. Most ladders that I played I’m sure there is somethings that I have missed, but it never affected me very much to make note of it. Perhaps on one reset for D2R early on there was one where I found multiples of everything, but no griff, but I easily traded for one with the stuff I did find.
I play SP offline too and have 12 items left in my grail that I started many years ago before it was cool. I recently started collecting ethereals too and am tracking that.
For me it’s a SOJ. I’ve found a Zod, and so many arach’s, shakos, other endgame gear that I don’t even pick them up anymore, but I CANNOT find a SOJ. It’s really remarkable because it’s not that rare and I’ve found several online, but it flat out won’t drop for me. Once I do get one I’m sure I’ll get 3 within a couple weeks.
Is a SOJ super important to you build or are you looking to pop single player Dclone?
Either way spam NM andy runs with good maps is probably the way. Normally I wouldn’t advise targeted MFing, but in extreme circumstances I can see a use for it.
Neither, it’s just a check mark. I’ve done NM Andy for a while but I don’t target it because the drop rate isn’t bad anywhere else in the game so it’s not worth it. The only things I’ve ever targeted were Cow King normal for Greyform and Blinkbat’s because once you get outside of normal you’re never going to find those.
I got my blinkbats from diablo in hell on a playthrough of one of my alts. Most of my grail is done with my Javazon but i realized that if i ever want to finish within a reasonable timeframe i had to switch to something with better frames and more easy access to MF so have Pitzerker aswell and he found the blinkbats.

I haven’t started really grinding for the most rare items such as many mentioned above, but it just shocked me that I’ve never found a Reaper’s Toll after all this time when it’s not all that rare according to all the info I’ve looked up on it.

Hard time to get 1 laying of hands (now I have 2).
Drop rate is 1:600 on P1 with 350 MF farming mephisto. Not sure if you’re single player or not, but runs are like maybe 1 minute but far less on single player. That means you should find one every 10 hours of meph farming. To that end if you haven’t found one ever you might want to consider playing the lottery tonight because you’ve run out of bad RNG for sure.
String of Ears…normally I find a few, this time I got 1 eth version and nothing. I’m limping along on the eth version for some spots but I really want a normal…
A bloody Pally or Sorc torch…I’ve got 2 Barb, 2 Necy and a Sin…nothing for my current classes. Figures the one season I don’t make a necy and I’m drowning in gear for one.
Interesting choices. At least you can use the torches as temps until you can get one you need.
I think the only item I want or would like isn’t so much an item that is normal in the book. Like I haven’t found a tyreals, but I don’t really care to even though it would be cool. But I would like to craft an amazing ammy, or find an amazing rare weapon, or maybe find a perfect rare ring. I’ve found some druid and barb helms that were really freaking good, but nothing I would use.
