What's a reasonable time to 99?

The grind to 99 currently takes well over 120 hours. Is this a reasonable amount of time?

Most games can be considered completed within 40 to 80 hours. In D2, you can spend years if you aim for holy grail achievements. Even SFF builds can take months to complete.

Considering that 99 isn’t the end of the game/character, what would you consider a reasonable amount of time to reach this point?

Too short, needs to take about 3 times longer

I’d consider 300 hours of semi efficient xping a good value.

500 hours minimum
same with Gear. you should not be decked out in 48 hours.
Make the drops more rare.

Based on what? The current status quo?

Level 89 is as high as you need to equip any gear that you want

Most builds are completed around level 80.

There aren’t any power gains from 89 to 99.

What exactly do you think you gain with the grinding hundreds of hours for skill points that aren’t needed and stats points that are largely irrelevant?

Try SFF and get back to me

Thanks for playing

There is no reasonable time to 99 since there is no real advantage getting there

The vast majority of builds are done around 80-90 and the extra points are fluff or meaningless

The road to 99 would be interesting if it provided meaningful perks

Like having max base skills get +1 at 95 & 99

Or

Rework the synergy system so that every skill points are worth something

Like this Affinity system

Where you have so many potential synergies that your build isn’t finish until 99

120h with 350% more xp

so would 500h be a “good” time to get it solo?

ive been advocating for the removal of unpartied bonuses or to add /x command to bnet
either way, the gap betwen solo and multi must be reduced if not eliminated

imo taking a char to 99 should take roughly 300h, solo or multi

500h solo still is 3500h to take one of every char to 99
its even sadder if one plans to make multiple chars of the same class

Oh common, you are ruining the fun.

Let the noobs keep thinking they are wanting a challenge by increasing the hours beyond the current peak performance hours as if such times are accessible for the average player without a streaming following…

It shouldn’t take more than 40-50 hours per character (solo). If you have no life you can go to D2: LoD and 99 10 characters, some sane people have happy lives and grind in real life.

like SSF with p8 is hard

Only way I play Classic offline :sunglasses:

It isn’t hard. But you definitely won’t be BIS in 48 hours. Good luck decking anything out solo farming in 48 hours

BiS can take YEARS. i like that. With that i mean. BIS whit the corect stats and so on. thats hard. and should be like that.

This new instant gratification for the fat, entitled, payday loan reliant youth ruins just about everything. Unfortunately, noone knows what a challenge is now. People even get their cigarettes and Burger King delivered to their door, and complain if its cold.

We have no chance. Society doesnt want to have to try more than once to feel like they have value. Rollback to 2,4 and leave it there.

And you can do exactly that as SFF.

You keep conflating difficulty with time consuming :rofl::rofl:

What is challenging about logging in meaningless hours?

You probably play Softcore to boot.

is it hard to fokus on One game for that long and not get bord?
is it hard yo have the disiplin for that long?

I think “the fat, entitled, […]” is the non-lifer who grinds for a video game to level 99, that are addicted to Burger King and smokes. People who don’t want to do braindead human-bot grind are usually fit because they play sports in real life.

Yes we have no chance if people their 30s+ think human-bot grind is an achievement and have no life.

Oh damn, such a high bar of difficulty.

I hear habits are hard to break, try breaking away from your d2 grind :rofl::rofl:

Have you considered that not everyone should get to 99? That not everyone wants the game to end without it taking months?

You can have burgerking and cigs, just not all at once in 10 minutes. Thats why diabetes is rife in to those that wont work for something, and call the world unfair when they dont win immediately.

99 means nothing now. thhats the trade - we can all start at almost 99 and get there immediately, but then it means nothing at all.
