What tunes do you listen to while you play?

RHCP Can’t Stop, Higher Ground.

Mine was pizza and fast food. Especially those last few years as a store manager working crazy hours. At my worst, I was 240, now 175. I’ve limited pizza to once a week (a little 7 inch personal), and fast food to about twice a month, usually on a night I plan on drinking.

My problem is junk food. You see after surgery I can’t eat much without vomiting, but junk food is easy to eat and not vomit, that’s how I gained weight back. When I move out of my parents house (only here because of extenuating circumstances) Im going back to working my butt off

Junk food is definitely hard to pass up.

I often listen to various game soundtracks, though most often I’d listen to the Terran/Protoss/Zerg themes from StarCraft 1 and the Doom 1 and 2 soundtracks.

Some others include Halo 1, Diablo 1, Turok 2, SimCity 3000, some others too.

You could say the same about hip-hop and rap, but they’re still wringing every last cent they can out of that genre.

The problem with Rock is that it’s so developed, to find anything new and interesting you’d have to climb the tree out to the furthest branch and look for the smallest bud of inspiration. People just aren’t willing to do that anymore when you can amalgamate a pop abomination and churn it out.

Popular music tends to definitely get the biggest crowd anymore, and the last of modern Country music I listened to, tends to be on the poppy spectrum anymore. Never was much into hip hop and such, outside of some of the stuff from the late 80s early to mid 90s that got radio play on the mix stations.

I used to hate, hate, hate country music. Then I got older and realized I don’t, I actually love country music just fine, if it was made before 1980. Once you start getting into pop-ish country, I start involuntarily vomiting. I don’t know why, but it feels like pandering, fake, sugary nonsense.

It’s bad enough that I think most modern country musicians can’t sing for crap. If you’ve got a good voice, and can play guitar, and tell a story, I’m incredibly satisfied as a listener. This save-a-horse-ride-a-***** stuff. Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses. Just shoot me please.

I would say that the really poppy stuff really started in the late 90s, early 2000s. I’m mostly a fan of the 80s and 90s country, but I do enjoy some of the older stuff. I don’t listen to country as much, but still do throw some on or enjoy listening to it while dad has it on the radio. Now I also don’t hate pop, but pop peaked in the mid 90s to me, and anything that Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, did after the Dangerous album, was very hit or miss. I think Scream was his last biggest hit I liked, and the radio edit version, which I heard first, was absolute garbage.

Pop peaked in the 80s. Nothing can compare to the peak 80s pop in terms of originality and catchiness. Only the genius of Michael Jackson was able to carry pop so brilliantly for another decade. 80s pop is some of the best music ever crafted, regardless of genre. Every song is incredibly unique and distinguishable from another pop hit.

That’s just my opinion on it though.

Led Zepplin and RHCP are timeless. Meanwhile the soft mumble autotune this generation is accustomed to isnt even good enough to be in a Now Thats What I Call Music album.

I can see that. Also, I may need repeat listens of that Chrono Trigger track. So far, luck has been no bueno with HRs. I’m 1/2 a bar from 92 on my Bowa. Since level 85, I have pretty much been doing nothing but Shenk/Eldrich, Pindle, Arachnid, Stony, Pits, Chaos, and Cows + AT on half the runs…

Throwing some numbers out, saying an avg of 30 of those runs to level, hitting 4 Level 85 zones a run, for 7 levels = 840 runs on 85 zones, plus 105 cows + AT. Brutal rng dangit. On the plus side, Diablo did pay a HoZ earlier tonight. So there is that, lol.

Try Halls of Pain and Halls of Anguish, seems to rain HRs for me.

Here try something more Zen. Maybe it’ll help. I used to just stand around Zeal for hours listening to the music.
