What SHOULD be top priority

I think there should be a list of priorities here. To preface, I’m a purist; so I’m going to look at this from the technical side of things.

Loading times in this game compared to LoD are atrocious. Having to wait a much longer time to enter games, to switch acts, etc… should be on the highest of priorities for fixing. If you are going to change core mechanics, then that should come after working on performance in my opinion.

Also, I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing breakpoints gone. They were part of an outdated engine due to limitations in the models since FCR, FHR, IAS, ect. is determined by FPS. That, however, is a core mechanic in d2 so I could see why that wouldn’t be changed, but if anything… that should go. I mean, it doesn’t make sense that I could have 199 FCR on a sorceress and only be able to use 105 of it unless I get 1 more measly point.

Anyway, sorry. /rantover

The game doesn’t care about fee fees. Top brass lives for players tears, I am certain of it.

There’s a hell of a lot more important things to take care of in this game before slightly longer load times and … removing breakpoints? Also, 199fcr on a sorc she can use 194 of it potentially.

Well, for lightning/chain lightning only. If I wanted to cast with fireball, my point would still stand.

Also… slightly longer? Try a lot longer.

i also think breakpoints are a bit cringe. every point should matter.

but at this point it’s part of the identity of the game, it’s too late to mess with that.

then again they showed that they dont really care about the identity of the game recently so why not

I think if balanced properly so that the end result would be the same (essentially same casting speed at 200% as if the breakpoint were still intact, but you could make use of the 199% for slightly slower), then it would make sense to do and would still keep the identity of it intact more or less.

Good points, though! It’s true they’re kind of ingrained in the game at this point.

too be bias because i`m a barbarian i will say too fix 2 handed and the ww stupid ias requirement

and overall balance and update all unique and set item also rune word something is not be balance after 1,10 and add more cube crafting recipe

I think that fundamentally the top priority should be two fold: 1) Bug and issue fixes and 2) Delivering on LOD patch 1.14d functionality that hasn’t been delivered yet. Everything else should come after or alongside those two things. There are still major issues in this game, including the file size issue that is causing items to simply disappear out of people’s inventory, the lobby and chat system is still horrendously full of errors and bugs along with missing basic and key functionality that is in LOD, and D2R uses the wrong maps in at least 2 places of the game, but probably more. Also, I more that I see change/happen with D2R, the more suspicious I become that there is something wrong in the loot system. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting that the drop rates are so far off that they need to be buffed, but there are some very odd things that have been reported since launch, and especially since the introduction of Terror Zones and Sundered Charms.

Just revert fcr and cool downs to D2 version 1.03 :joy:

Totally true, however they didn’t remake the game, they overlaid it so not sure if this is possible.
Going away from a 25 frames base would be better (even though I personally do think it has it’s charm because I like to theorycraft).

My priority would personally be increasing the difficulty (whether by nerfs or adding a new difficulty).
Returning Shapeshift to a functional system, especially Werebear has been ruined, but Werewolf also to a hit (yes Fury still works but others did take the hit).
I think a big overhaul is needed to return to a more difficult game while not making the game playable for some builds and just limiting others.

For this one thing is needed, guess I would name this as the top priority…a different DEV team that actually plays the game itself and thus knows whats going on in the game.
This team has no clue what the effect of their changes will be.

Since we’re doing gripes:

  1. Can they fix the bug that causes the game to crash either on load or when using a waypoint? It often plays out as failing every other time - so you can play game 1 perfectly fine, but after a save and exit then next game crashes on load. Rinse and repeat.
  2. Can they fix melee damage so that a melee character can actually participate in a world of casters? I heard that during one of the patches the team “forgot” to adjust weapon damage (1.13?) and it’s remained that way ever since.
  3. Keep working on improving the Druid and Assassin (MA). 2.4 made them better, but there’s still a way to go.
  4. Whirlwind.
  5. Update/balance Normal unique weapons so that they are playable, and/or allow Spirit to only be crafted in a shield (while allowing Dragon Shield to also have 4 sockets).

100% agree they need to fix werebear form ias. Uninterruptable attacks does not in any way make up for the huge loss of ias.

Let’s get more character slots and a currency tab first. That’s true top priority.

I think spirit should be removed from the game or at the very least have its level requirement raised a bunch.

Fix bug that forces players to drop gear on the ground.

Fix poison.

Fix WW.

Fix two handed.

Fix Offhand stats not appearing on stats menu.

Re adjust unused/ lesser used uniques and sets.

Add game creator kick. Pros outweigh cons.

Add ctrl click item to trade window.

Add break gem recipe. (Breaks any quality gem above chipped into 3 gems of previous quality.

Sorry, you cant be a purist without loving break points! I think they’re a cool mechanic.

I have to disagree with that first part. I’m a purist, I just never personally liked breakpoints. You have to admit they’re pretty silly. That said - to each their own.

the top two things bothering me i guess would be

-the loading.
and my specs are pretty highest end. don´t have them in memory, i´m not at home currently.
it gets in the way of trading.

-and more characters. cos i guess there´s gonna be a few ladder seasons.

i also liked the idea someone had of being able to kick and or ban from a game.

Top priority should be the most requested change ever by legit fair players: /player x command.

I think this is honestly relatively low priority when compared with fixing performance issues.

I never really cared for the /players8 command being a method of increasing solo difficulty; instead, players 8 should be impossible for a single player to farm, and they should add a unique difficulty selection in the game creation options once you’ve beaten Hell that makes the game quite a bit harder, but also provide better drops to compensate.

Players 8, imo, should feel like you need 8 players to play it, regardless of high-end gear.
