What other games do you play, besides D2R?

Thought this would be a fun little topic to discuss here. What games other than Diablo 2 Resurrected, or the Diablo series in general, do people here play? List your favorites.

Here’s some of my all time favorites, and games I’ve played at least somewhat regularly in the past few years in no particular order.

Left 4 Dead 2
Dark Souls 1-3
Terraria
Elder Scrolls, Daggerfall, Morrowind and Skyrim
Project Zomboid
Doom 2016
Mount & Blade Warband

I’m mostly a console gamer, especially for jRPGs. Outside of Diablo, the only only PC game I play is Final Fantasy 14. Just recently beat the console release of Edge of Eternity (old school indie turn based rpg), looking forward to the Chrono Cross Remaster in April, and still awaiting news for Final Fantasy 16 and the second part of the 7 Remake.

My favorite franchises include:
Final Fantasy
Wild Arms (My ultimate dream is this franchise gets revived on console)
Metal Gear Solid (except 5, looked too much sandbox to me)
Resident Evil (not the first person perspective based ones)
Castlevania (Metroidvania style)

I also play a lot of retro games, including the above franchises, but I also love old school Mario and Zelda, though I have not adopted a Nintendo console since Gamecube.

I haven’t had a console in ages, but I used to play Final fantasy 7 and 8, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 3 and Silent Hill 2 a lot back in the day. Still love those games though.

I have been slow to adopt to modern consoles after PS3. I didn’t buy a PS4 until Pro came out and bought it, and still have not bothered on a PS5. Generally waiting for 16 or 7R-2 to release before I make that plunge. I spent years primarily playing 14 on PC, and in the last few years, I only dabble in 14 for Expansion main story, then after a few patches to continue the story. I don’t care much for raiding, and the end game dungeon content gets very stale. Excellent story though, especially with Endwalker.

I had the original Play Station, Xbox and 360. One game I allmost bought a new console for was Bloodborne, but then I thought better.

As far as solo games, I like the open world RPG games, Fallout 3/NV/4, Elder Scrolls, The Witcher, FarCry. I also like playing the Civilization games.

Multi: I play within a tight group of friends who date back to the days of Kali, we play various games. We primarily play WGT Golf, Diablo 3, Flatout Ultimate Carnage, Poker, Scrabble and others.

I was able to get one of the Super Nintendo classics, so I’ll play that every now and then. Got it loaded up with a bunch of games. Amazing how many games you can fit into 200 megabytes of space.

I also have a large library of DOS games. I’ll fire up DosBOX and play them sometimes. Sometimes I’ll get a wild hair and think “Hey, lets play Seven Cities of Gold, or Ultima Underworld.”

Great topic! While the diablo franchise is probably my favorite of all time (with D2 being in my mind the best, followed by D1), my main games are Borderlands (the first one is my favorite lol), Dark Souls (first is my favorite, bring online service back soon fromsoft!), Elder scrolls (3-4-5), Terraria (has grown from humble beginnings to maybe being the best value for your dollar in gaming), I love the old school Doom games, old school CRPG games like Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale, I enjoyed Smite for a few years as my MOBA of choice, even Torchlight 2 I put a few hundred hours into, just wish more people played it and the online was better/more accessible (same goes for Terraria). Last but certainly not least are the Heroes of Might and Magic games, especially the 3rd one. Of course, plenty of more games I enjoy as well, from Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Pokemon, Dragon Warrior, you name it, I’ve been a lifelong gamer since a young age starting with the Genesis (it does what Nintendon’t!) And wouldn’t have it any other way. Amazing to see how far games have come in so many ways (and a bit sad to see the ways in which they’ve regressed/been made worse, generally due to changing times/business models and forgetting that making a great game your customer enjoys should be first and foremost in game design)

The one game that sucked my life away was Eve Online… I had to stop playing it. I swore to never play it or any other subscription game again. lol

I tried WoW for a month back when it was vanilla, but dropped it because it had a subsription. That and it just required way too much dedication.

It’d be easier to just list the games I’ll never touch.

Visual Novels, Dating Games, Clicker Games. Pokemon. Candy Crush, Fruit Ninja, Among Us, VR Chat, Goat Simulator, Shower with your Dad.

Starcraft bw.
Best competitive rts ever made imo, and I never get tired of playing it.
Will probably play it for the rest of my life

Great replay value in those games

I dabble with Heroes of the Storm, EVE Online, and my Steam library (lately Final Fantasy VI pixel remaster, previously Blasphemous).

Terraria is my favorite game ever. I liked the Thorium mod that added musical instruments as weapons, as well as the gelatinous cube in the dungeon.

Skyrim is probably my 2nd favorite. It is horribly glitchy with most mods in my experience. I’ve been playing without mods recently.

Mount&Blade Warband is definitely on up there. I like the Perisno Mod the best, but I mess around with a lot of different mods on that game. I’m currently trying Prophecy of Pendor again, but it is stupidly slow to start and I’ll probably switch to a different mod pretty quickly.

In case you could not tell: I like mods and being able to customize my games

I’m also a fan of turn-based games like Civilization (4 and 5), Endless Space (more 1 than 2), Fallen Enchantress, and XCOM (number 2 out of 3, I guess?).

I also have quite a few real-time strategies such as Sins of A Solar Empire, Star Wars Empire at War, Empire Earth, Age of Empires 2, etc.

Honorable Mentions: Fallout New Vegas, Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy, The Force Unleashed, Mass Effect (All 3 of course), Star Wars Battlefront 2 (the old one, I have it on PC as well as ye olde xbox). I’m generally not a fan of first person shooters unless it is heavily story integrated (Mass Effect) or star wars themed.

Also other ARPGs, such as Grim Dawn, POE (mostly with a nephew), and Torchlight 2 (I’ve never played 1). I usually play these the least (including D2R, for that matter). I don’t mind slow and grindy (mount and blade), I don’t mind difficult or slow, but something about the RNG of these types of games entertains me the least :man_shrugging:

Of course, these are just the ones currently installed on my current computers, so this would be what I’ve played in the past year or two. I own a whole lot more  and this does not count any of the games I have only on console or have not played recently. I would probably list out about a hundred if I included all the older games I still enjoy going back and playing through from back in the day.
