Yeah they implement a queue system 1 month later after refund period expires, that’s not deceptive is it? LOL!
Some people are perfectly happy with mediocrity I suppose.
Not me though.
Here we go with the corporate cucking boomer logic. Hey idiot if you buy something and it’s barely serviceable, then maybe entitled shouldn’t be part of the equation? Did I mention the part where people paid them for something and expectations come with that? But sure, entitled people that buy their products.
By entitled, I think he is referencing the CEO and board that are cutting overhead costs for bigger bonuses, They pulled a bait and switch, implemented queues 1 month later, after the refund period expired. That is most definitely a Deceptive Practice.
Are players just not allowed to have functioning games anymore? We’re entitled because we want a product that functions like LOD functioned for just about 20 years without this queueing crap and random daily crashes.
I agree with you 100% OP. I’m 49 and this is the funnest D2 I’ve ever played. Running it on a 3080ti and a 48" OLED LG C1in UHD. The game is GORGEOUS and the response times at 120hz let’s me dodge attacks from bosses like nothing I’ve experienced before in Diablo 2.
Compared to playing it on a little CRT and like a Pentium 3? It’s crazy good.
Huge thanks to the studio that brought this game back to life.
because in todays day and age people want INSTANT gratification because they have been spoiled with it. its why newer games that have drops or progression speed it up 10x as much as it use to be and people can finish content in a week, then beg for more.
20 years ago we had to wait like a year for anything new, or 2-3 years for an expansion. now people wait 2-3 months before its EXPECTED to have new content and big patches
They really did a great job on the graphics, the bugs I can let slide, the servers issues however, is another story. They completely and utterly failed in that area. And when the CEO is keeping .1 billion dollars to put in his pocket while the company can’t provide the capacity for the amount of games that were sold? Shame on him. Shame on all of them. Those are the ones playing the entitled role. They are taking your server spot, turning it into $40 and putting it in their pockets.
You miss the point of the complaints… the game is barely playable. They’ve then decided to add ques on top of the 60-second locket. We’re currently paying to beta test… the company isn’t helping the issue either. These issues remain unfixed, the company is in an almost decade long slump of poor products. They’re feeding us a DLC, which we’ll be paying full price for if we decide to purchase, Overwatch 2. Warcraft 3 reforged? An absolute buggy mess… forced to give mass refunds. Wow, back-2-back terrible expansions, filled with plot holes, borrowed power and an overall bad story. D2R has been fun and nostalgic… but it’s D2 with a new coat of paint, that is again… BARELY PLAYABLE due to them not being able to maintain servers… it’s like they don’t have experience or anything with massive amounts of players trying to play.
I would argue frustration rather than “entitled” and irritation and frustration are natural bed fellows.
While the Queues are a good idea at a tech/mechanical level these kind of delays are predictably unpopular. Reducing or limiting access to paying customers is bound to be resented, especially after the fact.
I would also congratulate you on your luck if you’ve been having no issues at all and only 5 minutes of queue.
Additionally the negative connotations with the word ‘Entitled’ using people complaining of legitimate issues, even if it is a bit repetative, doesn’t come across as well as you may have thought it would…
Not sure how you manage that, I spend the last 2 weeks remembering why I didn’t want to pre-order one of my all time favorites.
To be honest I really think your either not playing online or lying.
Blizzard themselves admitted everything is going wrong, I can’t believe your not affected and it’s not really the bugs people are hating on now, it’s more not being able to play at all unless offline, its not what they payed for.
Wanted to be playing, but couldn’t because I was stuck ingame, server was down, rebooting after crash, or last days waiting in the queue after crash…and 5 minutes, I’ve been in within 5 minutes only once, but also had twice around an hour.
And one big problem is that there are always people that say, no its fine take more money, I’ll eat the next steaming pile as well, thus the companies will not make good products again, get enough server space because its costs money and reduce the big fat profit.
Such pure and utter hyperbole. I’ve got 2 Hardcore characters in hell now, and 5 in NM. The game runs extremely well. I’ve had maybe 3 or 4 client crashes, and in all cases my character was still alive when I logged back in even though they were in fights everytime. I lost sooo many HC toons in the original D2 from lag spikes and high ping times or client crashes. I feel this version is vastly superior to the original.
The servers being oversaturated sucks, but they are working on that and reported they will have new servers up in a couple weeks. I can handle the queues, I’ve never had a wait over 10 minutes yet.
Wanna duel your hc guy vs my hc guy?
Which means, you too HAVE experienced malfunctions. To what degree, is not the question, nor should you be questioning others reports of crashes, at least, not when its clear as day, there is far to many reports to ignore, and then blowing it off as “the game runs fine”, and tossing around a misused, bs term such as ‘entitled’.
Sure, for you it does. Obviously for many other it does not. This is an issue. Don’t downplay it.
And i’m not talking about these forum poster reports exclusively. Go ahead, google up some world wide news, and off shore articles. Its pretty obvious the game state, on a global level.
I do ok on HC because I built my guy to compensate for random crashes and screwed up loads. He could have been with more damage but that isn’t really an option in this state. You don’t see nearly as many sorcs in HC as you should. (They probably already died) I would like to play an HC sorc, but in this state she would die pretty quickly if I geared her for MF.
Well if you’re okay with letting corporations save a dollar and take away a smooth experience, that’s on you. You’re part of the problem. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. That’s just how it works with corporations.
They could fix this in a split second by increasing the capacity. But they know the population will start falling off so they don’t want to spend the money. That’s fairly easy to establish, deductively. You are okay with this, thus encouraging it. That’s horrible.
That’s true and it’s always been their motto, so they never have the capacity for launches. Stupid is as stupid does, lol! Buy the launch servers and stop sucking blizz.
It’s exaggerated because you say it is? Nah. Not how it works when the majority of the player base is having MASSIVE issues with the game, drops, long ques, down time… none of this is acceptable when it’s happening for weeks. If this was a day or two in the beginning, sure. Whatever, can deal with that… but I’m paying to currently beta test a game. Think whatever you want about what I said, it’s the truth on blizzard and this game. Argue it all you want.
I personally think you’re playing in offline mode or just insanely lucky to have only 3-4 crashes.
It might be a differing server. This morning I logged on it was at 256 took about 10-12 minutes to get in I saw a post that was like, position 1200 but the guy was on the Asia server so I guess some servers are worse than others. I played for like 16 hours yesterday and was kicked just twice. I think some of it might be internet connection too, I have gigablast where I live so I haven’t really experienced a lot of the problems others are. It sucks that they have to go through all that but there is a diversity of experiences happening. I think, at least some of the time, people are embellishing like “oh game kicked me 50 times” when it was really 2 or “Oh took me an hour to get through the queue” when it was really 15 minutes. But I take people at face value and don’t want to diminish their perception of events.
Anyone who thinks that mega-corporations care about you as an individual are living in more of a fantasy land than this game is based in. You are customer #45232528 to them, nothing more. Remember that.
This is a transaction. We give them money, they give us a product.
Our money was good, their product was bad.
It’s that simple.
