What is the deal with unique rings

Andy, NM and Hell, are your best chances. It’s a trade off. NM has the best chance but the most limited drops, Hell is better loot, worse chances, no GG drops. Consult various drop calculators to see what items you’re after and what chars you’re using to farm.

I’d kill for a Raven Frost right now. Got my SoJ, but can’t get a Raven. I even have two Dwarf Stars. It’s…frustrating when you’re trying to hunt for one thing, especially as a solo player.

Would you like a Ravenfrost?

I would. But I’ll earn it. Might not be the most convenient route, but after twenty years on and off of D2’s multiplayer community, being entirely solo feels better.

Andy NM is the fastest for unique rings, farming in NM increases the chance of a SOJ because it eliminates the higher tlvl rings.

This is correct. The reason why is Andy’s NM loot table is a lot smaller than her Hell one so the chance of the SoJ is a lot better for her dropping in NM.

You are correct, when a unique item drops it is removed from the pool of items that can drop in that game. So if you find a unique ring, and it turns out to be ravenfrost, you can still find unique rings in that game but they cannot roll ravenfrost. So the chances of the next unique ring in that game rolling soj are slightly better, however you’ll be lucky to even see another unique ring in the same game lol.

best place to farm SoJ
Andariel - andariel (NM) Catacombs Level 4 1:1808 chance with 200MF
second best is Hell Andy

I believe that there is a 1/29 chance a unique ring from nm Andy will be an soj

As you go up in difficulty/item level more uniques become available and the chances go down due to a larger pool of rings
