In the real world, serious server issues are not allowed to exist for weeks on end. Customers are also communicated with, and kept in the loop with what is happening, when things are going down/why, and an ETA for when it will come up.

One thing is for sure, anyone with working with backend at Blizzard i will never hire, dear god this is bad.
even if they were using Amazon cloud, by the time they figure out the problem, you have to wait for the Amazon experts to help you with a solution and that takes days. Sometimes weeks. Been there.
Anyways just play the old client. Still holds up, good graphics and game play.

Or, you have people to fix it themselfs, AWS is just a system, you can change anything yourself, need more power? change instance type, need loadbalancing, set it up, need more IP:s, pay for them.
Its not like something doesnt work, and they just call Amazon and go āwelpā
Possibly, Blizzard should reallocate the money it pays public relations and marketing firms to server infrastructure and game development.
Amazon canāt keep their freaking flagship game serverās running properly either soā¦
