Both were made by a highly competent team who made a successful product that sold well. Sorry you don’t like it. No one is forcing you to use it.

Perhaps you should try enabling the chat gem, in the center of the lobby. That clears up issues, I’m told. And its working flawlessly.
I played classic until 1.10, just started up d2r. I never really got into knowing who they were anyways. It’s irrelevant anyways, the new chat system sucks.

You should definitely open some blizzard support tickets.
It’s just a shame one of their GOATs being given an intern to make the new interface.
If D2 was the GOAT, to you, then you have a low bar. The game had no competition when it was launched and had none for over a decade. Its remastered has a small, but dedicated player count… roughly 10,000 give or take. Other games get pulled from shelves for more. This is why it won’t get any other updates, nor does it qualify for the “GOAT.”
A “GOAT” would not be dwindling in player count and be constantly put on sale like the company is begging to milk a few more pennies with it. Meanwhile, other games in its genre have more players and updates from smaller studios. PoE is likely a better candidate for “GOAT” by all measurable metrics. And I hate the game.
POE is an overbloated schizophrenic mess of crafting systems. There’s still nothing like D2 in comparison imho.
And your opinion is worthless. Seriously, low bar. Or maybe you’d like to clarify why D2 is eligible for GOAT? Remember to measure it. What makes PoE the GOAT is the amount of updates it gets, the player retention it has for as long as it has, the sheer amount of content it has, it has every complex and deep system that other ARPGs like to boast about…
And keep in mind, I hate PoE. I refuse to play it. I don’t find it fun. I didnt like Halo, but I can acknowledge that for shooters, it was either Halo 2 or Halo 3 that was the GOAT.
Tbf, D2 was the goat until runewords and uniques became OP. Rares should have been kept top tier but hardest to find, they were always the real uniques.
i hate it. the old official hardcore trading channel isnt there and when someone whispers you it takes you to a lil private channel with them in the lobby. a bit disruptive when spammers like to whisper everyone in the lobby.
*also hate that im never shown to myself down there in the lobby list. it used to show me there back then
i really miss the old Hardcore Trading US-East back when it was used. people would list a wall of text of their items after a long day mfing, very cozy. i think trading platforms might’ve killed it.

honestly the chat system is worse than mosaic… because at least mosaic is FUN, its terrible for balance in a multiplayer game yes, and needs to be removed from ladder. but its at least fun to play as, even its busted to ungodly levels
the chat functionality is just hot garbage by any comparison to LOD
cant make or moderate own chat channels, cant pick a default channel
cant mute people (im sorry the “50 players” isn’t even enough to stop bot spammers… lod has an infinite offline blocklist you can even download the list of known bot spammer accounts pre-loaded)
cant filter messages
it hard to pm people
you cant message all your freind’s at once
overall its frankly just garbage
and they removed the ability to use !text and type while dead ( which is crucial to say, “staying dead” to remain in quest range)
oh and there’s a swear filter
like… that filters expletives you say when u stub you toe.
like i could let slide a filter for thing that are only used as direct insults to people…
and can never be used in any other normal way… but come on its a M rated game…

Yep the old interface was much better and mosaic is the reason I keep vfx low, a 1080gtx isn’t exactly top tier but it shouldn’t be noticable frame drop.

If there was no D2, there would likely be no POE or anything of the sorts. Diablo 2 quite literally is the goat. Almost all modern rpgs take inspiration from d2. Diablo 4 is a relatively boring game, but it has a lot of sales, does that automatically make it better?

Being first doesn’t make you the GOAT. You have to define what metrics make a GOAT. Sales, retention, profit, longevity, etc.
D4 so far is by far doing more of those things than D2 or D2R did.
Unless you need some typing practice, it’s not worth the time communicating with Baalor about anything relating to Diablo. He’s right, everyone else is wrong, it’s as simple as that.
