What if Burst of Speed gives your merc run/walk speed?

Teleport is way busted in this game. 0 cooldown, low cost and very fast wind-up. If that already makes teleport one of the best of its kind in history, instant recall of your minions is simply irreplacable. Even if you opt to run, your support minions wil still be half a mile beind you, making any build without teleport cluncky.

What if all of the self-boost speed skill also gives your merc a boost? I think this can make running builds more viable.

Or just add a half infinity e.g. BerLo in 2 open socket sword, level 7 conviction aura when equipped.

Just to make sure you’re aware but last year blizzard improved how summons + merc follow you, they now quickly teleport to you once you’re about a screen or two away & this includes traps which was an awesome QoL adjustment. I’ve played as a Summon Nec and Druid since the change (especially after druids were able to keep all wolves + bear up at the same time) and I can definitely say I don’t have much issues with keeping my summons next to me without enigma/teleport.

Yes I am. Before that it was unplayable. Now it is playable, but remains less optimal than teleporting.

And? Teleport is supposed to be the ultimate movement skill and with it costing either charges to repair or by finding Jah/Ber, it is fair with how powerful it is…

Running builds are all viable…teleporting is only needed for PvP, rushing & baal runs, there are so many places you can run to MF…

What I’m saying is that teleport is not only required to skip-to-boss runs, even in full area clearing runs, one have to constantly wait or use teleport charges to position the merc. Like you said for teleport. infinity and other support from the merc are designed to be part of the ultimate build. But in most cases, no teleport just means slow 'cause you have to constantly wait for that significant buff carrying merc to finally realize where he/she (mostly he) is supposed to be.

You believing teleport is required is the problem. It isn’t. Most of my characters don’t have an enigma yet I’m having more fun on characters without teleport like my Fireclaw. And even if you give your merc extra speed it wouldn’t do much, they usually get left behind due to doors & corridors so I’m not sure what good you think it would do…

i’m all for making merc’s speed scale with faster run / walk. but i don’t like the idea of a new infinity.

I was saying new infinity only because some people will dislike the idea of making mercs run faster. This one is only for a5 frenzy merc who runs pretty fast.

What I’m saying here is that even without corridors or choke points, I still have to wait. I’m fully aware of that for a running build just don’t go for Andariel.

the a5 merc already get close to the same % lower resist from the plague runeword.

If you mean the ‘half-infinity’ from me, maybe yes. But a5 merc can have two of them, the result will be slightly better than Infinity. For Plague and Infinity, Plague is still far behind. -57 vs -87, you still have wait for it proc, and conviction aura is the only enemy aura that is not conflict with any other kind of debuff.

infinity should be better it’s cost is much higher. but lower resist also gives lower % to poison resist unlike conviction. so it’s good for poison builds also. the proc % is pretty high so it will proc near instantly. but yea. it’s not as effective as infinity. but it’s fine because it’s a lot cheaper.

then why does my character get stuck at every door in the catacombs?
dang near can’t get to andariel without teleport, and the problem is worse the faster my run speed is

Why everyone want teleport and enigma nerf… its part of the game and people love it. You dont have tobuse teleport if you hate it !

I don’t have any problems. My Fire Ele this season has over 80% FRW without Enigma and I’m not using teleport… I farm Andy now and then but there are so many other places better to farm than going to Andy… WSK for example is so much better for all types of drops and obviously a lot easier to walk around in.

Another tele crybaby post. Ugh…

Play another game.

i used catacombs as an example, but really i just get stuck on anything that interrupts flat ground. i use a controller, and i’m sure it’s because they were lazy when they imported the controls. with a mouse, your character just tries to navigate to where you clicked by the quickest path so it’s not even noticeable

Eh I use a Controller when I play on PC and on the Switch, I think for combat and movement it is much nicer to use than M&K now aside from picking up and moving items.

Great advise, and I’ve got plenty of games on my computer already. Maybe you can stay at Diablo 2 1.00 or more practically lod 1.14, ‘cuz improvement is waaaay too scary for you.
