HC - Hell 250+ mf runs with 180 MF & 4k blizz damage & only good drops was a Shako 117 & one skin 24/9… didnt see a high rune even an pul what its wrong? :((((
RNG can be mean sometimes. Keep trying.
I mean even Pul is still like 50k to 1 drop odds. If you were doing 200 kills worth of mobs per run you’re only just now touching the RNG on it.
Without Horking, and just farming through TZ’s I generally only see something Ist up every 3-4 10 hour days. So figure 700 runs or so.
Well, my last Shako dropped 2 months ago. Averaging 200 MF too, approximately. Had a Cham just now and also a Matriarchial Bow which rolled 4 sox. 19 58 Steel rend was last good unique, 2 days ago. Honestly drop rates are fine, and if you are doing TZ like everybody, it never was better, to the point it is becoming too much.
Hell I dropped most of the MF and just went for more kill speed just because I wanna finish out 99. (On NL though, got a HC Ladder throw barb like 82 with SSF and was like… ya know what… I don’t even wanna anymore lol)
That damn barb took like 25 minutes to kill Baal… was miserable
Well MF won’t really help with the rune situation, that’s more just kill speed.
As said though RNG can give you lots or nothing. As for jhaerik I would always worry about kill speed first, then adding MF in place of DPS later on.
Kill 100 guys at 100 mf will give you more than 50 guys at 200 mf and so forth, especially for runes.
If you get to a point where you find you can’t really kill much faster then move onto stacking more MF.
D2 has most complex drop rate calculator, all those calcs online are fooling you. The game is able to recognize which items you’re hoping will drop and automatically takes them out of the possible pool of droppable items. Only when you have zero expectations will the game reward you.
Yeah I’ve also got all the uniques I need, so it’s really just came down to occasionally getting a better roll or w/e… it’s mostly just the XP and runes I’m after.
As for that Barb though… finished Baal on him, and is going on the back burner until I final the NL pally out. Was just doing it for the “challenge” of it… because I wanted to see things from the perspective of all these HC players on here that go on and on about how hard is it… Honestly didn’t feel any different than a normal playthrough, I don’t generally die in D2 lol. Just very slow because well for the extra challenge… SSF throw barb lol.
Yeah… That uh… Project from the early 90’s… Research into a digital telepathy interface thing-a-ma-jig… Diablo 2 and the item drop rates must be a conduit for a decades long research project into that very phenomenon…
I think Al Gore invented it… The Interwebs! No… That wasn’t it… Nevermind.
The runes are the game content, can’t up it or people would have realized that the game is nothing but a few square maps with 20 different mobs.
Basically how old NES games worked, like an hour of content but the game was made so hard that it was stretched to 100 hours.
The game is not designed for solo farming to be effective. Thats why hork barb is the only meta. Or credit card JSP. Or no life of course and 2000 trav runs. Good luck
I can do only mf… becouse kill it from distance… cant do TZ becouse no gear… after more + 150 runs (400+ mf kills + mobs/council) nothing to progress…
So you’re saying you think the drop rate is off after finding shako + vmagi in trav? Seems like a good haul for 2 hours.
Focus less on MF get your damage up, when damage is up, then focus on where you can add MF. But your drop rate seems just fine.
250 mf rusns + mobs sound for you like 2h ? :))
Trav runs are 30 seconds so yes, around 2 hours. If perhaps you mean meph’s council, okay what maybe 3 hours? Shako + Vmagi + all the other stuff you forgot to mention sounds like a decent haul on 3 hours.
Beyond that if you’re taking longer than that in your runs, you’re slow. If you’re struggling to kill it is because you have too much MF and your build is bad because of it. Regardless your drops are fine vs the amount of runs you’ve done. If you want speedier drops you need a better build probably.
Yup bad RNG for me lately too. I’ve been horking specters in Arcane Sanctuary still no hr. My past luck was really good but lately no.
I haven’t been playing much. My sorc is still in norm act 2.
I guess I’m entering another Diablo burnout phase. Kind of Jonesin’ for the new Fallout 4 update to arrive so I can dump another 100 hours into that game.
I played this game for 12 years and I never once found a high rune in my entire life. It took 400 mf runs in the sewers in act 2 when I bought and paid for all the high end game items I would need before I could even have a chance at finding high runes and I found a single jah run on classic. The fact that anyone is lucky enough to consistently find high runes after hundreds and hundreds of runs in the popular rune places like lower kurast, bazaar, act 2 sewers etc boggles my mind. Stop complaining.
How do you have 400 MF with no gear?
You should really focus on either finding items with MF, or hunting runes with kill speed. Once you figure out which one you want to fight for, realize the other will be a bi-product if you are lucky. If you are aiming for both, and just spamming random areas it’s going to be much longer before you find something worth while.
