What does this statement mean?

The same Diabli II you know and love, preserved.

It means that you were ripped off, sorry.

Can a mod combined all the doomsday theads. Do we need 20 threads talking about the same thing?

While the mod is at it, can they please merge the bash purist threads and patch threads too?

this means that they lied and now after they have our money makes the game a pile of crap like diablo 3.
thank you blizzard. Company of liars and cheats.
and this under the pretext: yes we have started surveys and asked the community.
paaaaah.
great surveys. 90% idiots who grew up with D3 and have no clue about good games.
lesson learned.

It means that so far I got the Remaster that I was promised. And I’m happy. No core changes to gameplay, no trying to reimagine or improve the game, no new content, no ridiculous nonsense like online players commands.

Instead, in the spirit of a true remaster, mostly QoL changes, game balance changes and, of course, graphics changes. We did get some changes I could do without. But honestly, no one can expect to be completely pleased with everything that goes into a game.

The upcoming 2.4 changes are promising since they seem to indicate a reversal on the direction D2 patches took in the past. Increasing build variety and giving some skills the facelift necessary to make them usable should be music to anyone’s ears!

It’s a risky move no doubt, raises concerns about game difficulty, and shouldn’t come without some bumps in the way. But these are exactly the type of changes a purist like myself, who was sad seeing support to the game end some 10 years ago, wants to see in D2, the Remaster. Keep true to the game, do not bring new content, do not change core gameplay, and keep supporting and patching it.

We need a Blizzard dictionary so we can understand better. I thought I knew what preserved meant.

I was only buying for the improvements to the graphics. And that’s what they told me I was buying. I did see they mentioned previous to release they would also improve the chat lobby. I was ok with that so I purchased the day of release. But the chat lobby is worse and now they are changing the game by messing with skills and adding items.

I’m not convinced that this is the game I know and love in a preserved form.

I can see reason in your argument. I won’t deny it. But I think taking that by word literally, you are taking that word too far.

Also, I don’t understand your logic. Even coming from a classic player like myself. You cannot expect this game to just freeze in time. That is exactly what we classic players complained about when Blizzard stopped supporting it in 2011, after the last of the 1.13 patches (patches 1.14 were mostly maintenance).

Diablo 2 is fundamentally a broken game that went through a series of very bad decisions being acted out by the wrong people at Blizzard during its patches days. Especially after LoD came out. If you were there playing it with us, you must remember how heavily criticized by players many of these patches were. And all those bad patches, all the bad decisions, are still there to this day.

Speaking for myself, as a classic player who has played this game for 20 years and loves it to the bone, the good and the bad, I’m not with you if you think that the word “Preserve” shouldn’t allow them to improve this game. I want Blizzard to continue where they left of with Patch 1.13d. Hopefully this time giving us more builds, improving class skills usage, fixing the horrible melee experience, et cetera.

It means the core gameplay is the same still.

I don’t know why everyone wants to be stuck at 1.14d from OG D2. D2 was always changing until they just abandoned it.

Making balance changes and adding in new items doesn’t break core mechanism of D2, but will add in new meta builds and give a more fresh ladder for us that has been playing many ladder season beforehand.

You got that a dead game with a bunch of d2jsp trolls and bots spamming you! Same old easy mode runs same old boring game! The game dies again and now blizzard ohhhh making the game for a playerbase that doesn’t exists didn’t work!

A fear I have is that the items I felt confident trading for had a preserved desire. If they were up front about adding items changing skills I wouldn’t have done so much trading. If you remember throwing away .08 Valk helms you know what I mean.

This being a game with trading means things have value. My only hope is some of these non desirable items I’ve collected might have a value to someone down the road.

You had that. Now they are adding new stuff. Its time.

I would like to see them to patch purists

No matter the changes and runewords, the end game goals will still be the same. Get Enigma. Get CTA. Get Grief. Collect skillers w/ life. Etc.

Yes because it will end of the world to throw away vidala set. They didnt say anything about changing uniques. They are improving sets as many of them sucks big time.

Watch the live stream later on before you get to angry maybe it’ll be fine we will have to see.

You do know that they will have a PTR. Maybe the devs of this game will prove to be better at listening to the community that post on the PTR. As long as they do it right everything will be fine.

I don’t see how players being able to use Hydra in a build is gonna bother you. What should the only builds anyone ever players are smiters, blizz sorcs, Hammerdins, Trapassins, along with the rest. Where all of the other unused skills still are not used. Where they are seen as a newbie trap. I don’t see how changing those skills will hurt the game.

OP cant even get the quote right.

“gameplay preserved”

they arent screwing with how the game operates.

While they are at it, can the mods delete all these post so we can start fresh. It’ll be like ladder bit for forums

it’s bs meant to seduce you early on and then means nothing.

just like when you tell her you enjoy long walks on the beach even though youre really a nerd that just wants to sit inside in the dark :stuck_out_tongue:
