I need to respec sometime to take advantage of newer stat bonuses, but my char is super straight forward:
Str: enough for Monarch
Dex: still undecided whether to go for block or not, sitting around 100
Vit: the rest
20 FO, 20 CM, 20 Hydra, 20 FM, rest into Ice Bolt, but Fireball would work too, just depends on which you want to focus on FO or Hydra more for DPS.
Gear: Full Tals, 35% fcr Spirit, Chancies, 2x rare +fcr/mf/+ rings, Inferno Strides. I also went with a Cold Sunder since CM already lowers Cold Res and allows me to chill everything, even CIs.
I know full Tals is often scoffed at, but I feel like hybrid builds get more from it than mono-element builds. I have nearly 300% mf and 105 fcr really helps get the Hydras laid down faster.
The build doesn’t win any speed contests and definitely feels better at low/no player counts, but I really like the play style. It’s safe and great at probing, I’d definitely use it if I played HC. Full Blizz with Sunder or decked out mono Fire or Lit are gonna out perform, but tastes vary. I’m just not really a fan of Blizz.

Strength- enough points for ds. more point if wearing lionheart.
Dexterity- none
Vitality- all the rest
Energy- none
Thank you. My suspicions were close to a setup like above. The build won’t be near or complete, skill point wise, until into the CLvl 90’s (not counting plus to skills on gear or charms).

I’m sending you guys friend reqs. The ideas/opinions are greatly appreciated. So no one is in favor of a Blizz/Hydra hybrid?.. even if they returned Cold Mastery to full strength and fixed the bug affecting Hydras? If the answer is an overwhelming NO, then what about a Blizz/Meteor combo for elite sniping, density murdering, or act boss sniping?

Currently I am using a Nova/Hydra sorc (SSF, not much luck for finding things, tho I found a Vex and a few Puls). 20 Hydra, 18 FMast and I think FOR MY PLAYSTYLE the hydras doing okay damage. But I am patient, I am not a speed runner and I use what I found (expect the anni, I had to ask someone to kill DClone ). The same would work with Blizz and FOrb. I used them many times, for an old man, like me, they are superb. Except for the nonsene DClone, but that is a big design failure anyways.
