Ive picked up alot over my time, but im not really sure what all is most in demand.
Ive been farming alot but my runes suck (nothing above um) and just wonder what some of the items that are more overlooked but have a high value.
Depends, 5 os phase blade for grief, 4 os shields, archon plate 3-5 is depending on use, 4-6 for cryptic axe or thresher/giant thresher, ethereal preferred. Lots of choices just look at popular runewords and for armour the penalties, archon has none with good d.

This is just off the top of my head…there are more though.
Commonly sought out socketed items are:
i) Three socketed Dusk Shrouds, Mage Plates, and Archon Plates preferably with high enhanced defense (13-15% usually).
ii) Four socketed Flails, Crystal Swords, Phase Blades, Monarchs, Dusk Shrouds, Archon Plates, and any Elite polearm save for Colossus Voulges (due to their high strength requirement). There are also elite Paladin Shields (preferably with high resistances (40-45)).
iii) Five socketed Flails, Crystal Swords, Berserker Axes, and Phase Blades.
As for sets:
i) Tal-Rasha’s Wrappings. The whole set offers a good balance of FCR, FHR, Life, Mana, and resists. Some will just go for the “three piece” which normally constitutes the armor, amulet, and belt. This is done for a balanced MF/Damage build.
ii) Immortal King. This set offers some pretty decent damage that any poor Barbarian could benefit from. The rarest piece is the chest, but is about a mal/ist in value.
Other sets such as M’avina’s and Trang’Oul’s might also be worth collecting.
Also, keep an eye out for single set pieces such as Trang’Oul’s Claw, Guillaume’s Face, and Laying of Hands.
I’d say a 4 socket eth superior 15% enhanced damage thresher.
I don’t think the Ed or ethereal will boost grief that much in the end as it’s a flat increase but bonus points I suppose when your stretching that max stats.
You would never make grief on an eth item, it doesnt have indestructible or self repair and there are better options for mercs.

true but when it comes to perfecting your gear a lot of folks will pay a lot for perfect bases even if the benefit is miniscule. so nice to keep 15% ED/3 AR 5 sock BA/PB.
