Important Reminders

Reporting Posts

You can report a post that violates our Code of Conduct or forum guidelines by using the “flag” icon at the bottom right corner of the offending post. Please note you can only submit a given number of reports per day, so please avoid using this functionality to report posts you don’t like or agree with and limit usage to posts that are clear violations.

If one of your posts or threads has been moderated and you believe this is in error, please contact Customer Support .

Search

The search function at the top of the community site is extremely effective and robust. Before you create a new forum topic, we recommend using search for similar topics, blog posts, or web pages that may contain the information you seek. Making a new thread on an existing subject can result in your thread being deleted or, if you continue to re-post the same content, the loss of your forum privileges for spamming.

Trust Levels

Trust levels are a new form of user participation on these forums. There are four levels of Trust (0, 1, 2, and 3).

By actively posting, liking, or engaging in topics, reporting forum violations, or simply visiting and reading posts, you can increase your Trust level. Higher trust levels come with more posting privileges, including gaining access to the ability to create links, embed videos to trusted websites like YouTube or Twitch, increasing your “like” limit, and participate or even create wiki-style posts that can be collaboratively worked on by other community members.

Please note that Trust levels are independent to game title forums; your trust level from forums for World of Warcraft, Overwatch, or other game titles are tracked separately from your trust level here.

Posting Guidelines

In addition to the forum Code of Conduct , here are some common courtesy guidelines to follow. While there may be some overlap with our Code of Conduct, we also wanted to provide examples of best practices to help you avoid thread deletions or the chance of your posting privileges being revoked.

Use the Category most closely associated to your question or topic when making a new thread.

Please refer to the forum descriptions by using the “Category” selection at the top of the main navigation page to determine where best your post should be made. Threads that are off-topic or would be better served in a different Category will be moderated and may be moved or deleted.

The Diablo II forums are for discussion of topics directly related to Diablo II.

The forums here are specifically to discuss the game and related topics. Any topics not related to Diablo, Battle. net, or Blizzard Entertainment are subject to deletion.

Don’t post in all capital letters, use a misleading title, excessive punctuation, and/or non-standard symbols, etc.

While everyone wants their posts read, we ask you refrain from using these tactics to bring more people to your thread. Let your post stand on its own merit. Threads violating this guideline are subject to deletion.

Using the words “Blizzard,” “Blue,” or any community team or development team members’ names in a thread topic is frowned upon.

Everyone would like Blizzard to read and acknowledge their post, and we understand that; however, use of such words in the subject line does not help that come to pass. Please make your thread title relevant to the post subject. Threads violating this guideline are subject to deletion.

Posting “First” or IBTL (“In Before Thread Lock”) is considered spamming.

You may be suspended if you create a post that is intended to call out that you achieved a specific reply number in a thread. This is considered spamming. Posting IBTL is not helpful, and if you feel a thread should be moderated, please use the reporting tool (flag symbol) in the lower right corner of the offending post to do so.

Do not “bump” posts.

The act of posting simply to bump a thread is considered spamming. This also includes bumping old threads for no reason (also called “necroing”).

Petition posts are frowned upon.

These are discussion forums and, as such, we ask you hold discussions. Creating a thread to ask for replies as “votes” is not a discussion. Threads violating this guideline are subject to moderation, including deletion.

Do not post about moderated threads.

Post that are moderated have a reason behind the moderation. It’s up to you to read the forum Code of Conduct and these guidelines to determine what you did wrong, learn from your mistake, and attempt to post again without breaking any rules. If you have been subject to account action, you should receive an email detailing the suspension or ban to the Battle.net account associated to your forum posting account. Please refer to Customer Support for any inquiries regarding the status of your forum account.
