I only have 1 weapon now because the weapon swap (w) not working at all. My hoto staff is stuck in there as well.
Did you try both the character sheet weapon “I” and “II” tabs, and with the bound weapon swap (w) key?
If W is not working but the I and II tabs are, check your controls to see if the key is bound to weapon swap.
yes I did. the I and II tabs also not working. I went out and check the control options menu, and it was correctly set with (w) for swapping.
Go to your battle.net client under Diablo II, click the 
icon next to “Play”, select the option “Scan and Repair”, then click “Begin Scan”. See if that helps.
Does it happen with all characters or just one?

It works now. I check all the other characters that I created and they were all working. I came back to the main character and it works well like before. Thanks to god! I don’t really know what happened, but all are cool now. Thanks for your attention. My guess is by login in and out, reset it.

This happened to me once, i just exited the game and made a new one and it worked again.

I had posted on the bugs channel about this too.
Yeah, playing with a controller on usb and got stuck holding my teleport staff during a Baal run. Coudn’t switch back. Tried to unplug the controller and use the M&K but it was still stuck. Had to log off lol…
please fix when you can ^.^
Just not using alternate weapons for now
