We going to do new season content bliz?

I mean you guys have shunned this community for a while now. But, thought I would make a post in case you have some news for the real Diablo fans still over here in d2.

I suggest looking for a subscription based game for the continuous stream of new content that you seek.

Play single player. Beat hell Baal.

= more than most players have done.

No thanks. I would rather have seasonal games. Poe is still great. I haven’t seen them slow down.

PoE has a way for the game to continue making money for the developers to get paid to make more content… Diablo 2 does not.

The only way Diablo 2 will get additional content is if they create a paid expansion, which is highly unlikely:

Money makes the world spin.

If asking for additional content for a game where it’s all but guaranteed not to happen makes you feel good, by all means, keep doing it.

Imagine if d2r found a way to make money other than the current ban / resell method. I would pay for an expansion to d2r. D4 has 0 chance of getting another dime from me.

Diablo 4 isn’t meant to cater to what diehard Diablo 2 fans want in an ARPG. They don’t care if you don’t want to spend any more on Diablo 4. (By “another dime”, it sounds like they already got some out of you anyway.)

Blizzard is targeting the largest group of gamers… Younger players. If you aren’t in that group, then you are secondary or lower priority.

i would bet that its the classic games dev team who is taking care of d2r RN
this happened to d3 as well until they assembled a new general diablo team and suddenly d3 started getting meaningful updates

I’m curious why the D4 community manager just came and locked CharlesJT itemization thread. Anyone know why?

So maybe we’ll quit dreaming of how to improve this game that doesn’t make them money and maybe go buy Diablo 4 so they can make more money. It’s all about that money.

That’s what comes to mind anyway.

It would actually be absurdly hilarious if that’s the reason why.

Occam’s Razor, man. The simplest explanation is most often the truth.

Blizzard is a company, who wants to make more bling bling in the bank.

Diablo 2 = bank drainer
Diablo 4 = bling bling in the bank.

CharlesJT did say there was some funkiness with his thread where posts weren’t working or something potentially due to the length of that thread (1600+ posts at that point), so maybe it was closed due to technical issues or something. I doubt there’s any hidden agenda to somehow quell D2R discussion in an attempt to push people to D4.

Annoying that the CM didn’t give an explanation though, so much for “community” eh? Not that it’s any surprise.

If there was a technical reason, a reasonable think to do (by a CM, a COMMUNITY MANAGER) would be to explain the issue (hell, what issue, does D2 forum have the same limits as D2 save files?!), apologize for inconvenience and encourage to start a new thread with summarized discussion from the previous one.
Closing the thread silently and without explanation screams of hidden agenda.

So add micros to d2r. Bling to purchase. It is not hard math. I would buy content.

As long as I have the option of turning it off on my screen while the purchaser views it to their hearts delight on their screen, I’d have no problem with purchasable cosmetics coming to the game. If I’m forced to see the cosmetics, then it’s a no go.

I would pay for more character slots on the same license key. And I would pay for a bigger shared stash on the same license key…

Blizz has options. Sadly I think D2R was a pre sales strategy for D4. I wonder how it worked for them

Heh, they took my thread down. What a crock.
