Waypoints should be immunity zones and good looking

Hi,
As loading screens are very long and lags can happen.
Waypoints should be like town areas were no monsters can enter and where you cannot do offensiv skills.
A small circle of stones or candles or hanged corpses around could show the limit and make them sexier !

they already fixed getting hit while beeing in loading screen.
also you can even move/teleport already WHILE beeing in loading screen (not sure if this was intended actually, it feels more like a bug) which means your spawn position after load screen ended is not necessarily the waypoint itself.

They could provide more contrast with the background terrain. I’d often ran over them without seeing them early in the game.

But, this is true with a lot of game items. “Breakables,” furniture, etc., heck even characters themselves could use some more highlighting to make them stand out better. A lot of times, items just sort of blend into others in a drab lack of contrast.

Are they tho? or you’re still using a mechanical hard drive and/or your system has low RAM/VRAM?

Just saying because it’s super fast to me.

They just need to add a grace period tbh.

After loading in yesterday to find Emilio fighting some tree guys, I’d like to see some attention given to the monsters around the waypoints issue.

That link is from july after the alpha test. If u look at the beta notes it states. That u will still get attacked and this will be fixed for launch. Which was not fixed at launch.

Do u have a more recent patch notes that state its been fixed.

since you didnt provide a source for your claim i had to search it myself, i do a bet you are referring to this one:

Q: Why is my character still attacked while at a loading screen?

A: As mentioned in the Technical Alpha Learnings blog, characters will no longer spawn in a hostile place until the game is fully loaded, preventing characters from getting attacked or harmed during a loading screen. This fix is not in the build for the Early Access and Open Beta, but it will be in the game for launch. We didn’t want to delay the timing of the upcoming tests for this issue.

so this simply stated that this said fix they made, would not be implemented in the alpha or in the beta but in the launch.
I am playing this game since launch and i can confirm that this is fixed.
best example is actually the loading screen to Duriel which was the biggest issue in the first alpha. You can now enter Duriels room without waking up as corpse.
Now what CAN happen is that directly AFTER the load screen finished you might get attacked instantly because the bos/monster spawned there or more probably was kited there by some player. And this is definitly no bug to be fixed

After loading in I’ve always moved/teleported the direction I intend to go so I rarely “load” in at the actual TP/WP spot lol. That definitely cannot be intended as it means that I am “interacting” with the environment being able to move/cast and therefore monsters are also able to interact/engage.

I think there’s still some work they need to do with WP loading time for sure - even with a very new and fast computer I get a bit of delay that definitely did not exist in OG.

I can confirm that there is still an issue here. Maybe the game thinks you are done loading, but you are still at the loading screen while your character is in the zone and can be killed. Hell Frigid Highlands is one of the most dangerous waypoints as a Unique mob pack can spawn right near the WP. I have also seen a video of a hardcore player dying in Act one while loading when using a waypoint. The issue still exists regardless of what that says.

I have noticed an improvement on waypoint load time recently, but your character is still in the zone before you can see. You can easily test this by spam clicking in any direction while you are loading. Your character will be moving or will have moved when you finally can see.

Lmao players are still complaining about mobs attacking before ur loaded in.

Its not fixed nor was it fixes at launch take a look at post from first week of launch.

Load times as of last patch are much faster but ur still in game before that door opens. U can still move around theres times i can hear my merc attacking mobs. This is a bug u should not be able to enteract with the game while its loading. Nor should the game beable to attack u even when another player kites mobs over.

Its better sure but not fixed as they stated it would be.

Not so long ago I opened cow level and entered. Thanks to my SSD, I usually have very short loading screens. But as soon I saw my hero, I already got attacked. The map layout was like having a small niche in the middle with three sides borders and only way was in front. And from there 3 hordes of cows, one with a golden aura came running at me. Died in a second after getting chance to move. So I am not sure, how this is really fixed

Mate, you cannot move in loading screens offline. And this should not exist.
Monsters can move and come next to you so they hit you at once when loading screen is over.
Since you CAN be attacked next to portals, yes something must be done.

To conclude, making monsters scared of portal zones to make them safe is the solution.
Therefore something visible should be added to “justify” their fear.
Could also be enhanced visibly like a shrine on the map !
Please dear devs take this into account.

Which is actualy pretty bad design as your merc can lure monsters to you or you can move into monster by mistake while you dont even see your screen.

If they cant fix loading times, they need to make way points safe and honestly town portals too for short period of time.

Just a tiny safety ring for tps but not limited in time. In my opinion as long as tp exists.
