The safest way to spawn him in this map layout (where the seal is on the left side), is by standing behind the seal and clicking on it’s left edge.
Here’s my take on why this has happened. We have this in the patch notes:
- Fixed an issue where one of the Chaos Sanctuary seals was difficult to select
But I think it was not an issue and it was intentional.
Seal spawns always depended on where the player stood and clicked (much like weapon\armour racks). And the clicking area was intentionally restricted, so that players wouldn’t spawn DeSeis on top of them. But new developers just “fixed” this issue in an oversight".

I was just at this map and the Lord De Seis was a tough critter to beat.
I a curse spamming Necro with melee/casting skeletons and iron golem. Fun times.
No it depend where the seal is localized.
The fix was that clicking on the seal often did nothing and (iirc) only worked on certain parts of the seal.

this was a PTR bug, i just tested this and zero issues.
“no” what? localized? the seal is always in the same place. Sorry dude I can’t understand what you are saying here.

this is not a PTR bug, there’s no bug even. It’s just a consequence of a fixed bug. If you didn’t have DeSeis spawned like my clip, you just didn’t do it right. My clips were taken today on the live version. It requires pixel perfect execution (but there are many options)

i can’t replicate, I seen this in PTR but not now.
If you want to replicate, look at my clips very carefully and do pixel perfect clicks (look at the graphic details on the ground and the seal and so on, where character feet are, what is behind him). “Force move” hotkey can help with this (to position your character right without clicking the seal accidentally)
I love how if you look at the history of D2 patches, De Seis has almost always been mentioned. He seemingly always breaks something some way or another all the time. Which is funny that even in D2R, he’s still finding ways to do weird stuff.

it happened this to me the last week with my HC single player sorc… she almost died. i was like WTF!!! why he appear there!!!. however it only happened to me once. Probably a very rare bug. It’s nice bug in my opinion, that way you are always taking care of the respaw of that guy.
Each groups of seals have 2 random locations they can appear within a certain distance, sometimes the seal of Lord DeSeis will be to the left, sometimes to the right depending how paths are generated, this messes with where Lord can appear. I think you know that already tho, just wanted to correct my wording you didn’t understand what I meant.
As for the “restricted seal”, I was referring to a very old bug that was fixed long ago, I wasn’t referring to a possible new bug.
