Using Blizzard with a controller

When Blizzard is cast on enemies that don’t move, it often fails to hit at all when using a controller, which is extremely frustrating. The spell is always placed exactly at the center of the target, meaning the middle of the area of effect sits directly on top of the enemy.

However, Blizzard seems to have a kind of “dead zone” in the center of its area, where often no projectiles land and therefore no damage is dealt. Since stationary enemies don’t move out of this area, they end up taking no damage at all. This makes playing with a controller in these situations particularly frustrating.

Suggestion:
A possible improvement would be an optional offset feature for area-of-effect spells when using a controller, allowing players to slightly adjust the placement. Even better would be to improve the projectile distribution so there is no “dead zone,” ensuring enemies are reliably hit across the entire area.

You have to learn how far ahead of you it auto casts and then adjust your distance in the meantime.

That’s exactly what I’m doing right now, and that’s what makes it so frustrating.

When playing with mouse and keyboard, I don’t have to move my character backwards just to cast a spell at max range and actually hit the target. I can simply aim slightly in front of or next to the enemy and it works perfectly fine.

That level of control is exactly what’s missing when using a controller, and it’s what I’d like to have there as well.

Yeah, it’s why I’m not playing Warlock with a controller since Echoing blades changes from a shotgun spread to a single point depending on how close to your character you cast it. I should try it on controller and see what it does.
