Hi all, so you can’t upgrade the base of any white item in the game in anyway? Thought I could take a superior white item and runeword it to upgrade the base of it but then found out that runewords are counted as uniques but can’t be upgraded, which is a bit misleading, this made me loose a mid rune yesterday because I was not aware of this. So just to be sure, if I want a Giant Trasher for Infinity I need to find a giant trasher base? What about Great Polaraxe would this be a good base for an Infinity?
Colossus Voulge mainly is what you want for an infinity because of the damage, atleast its what I use, high str required though, as with the giant thresher. You can upgrade uniques as far as I know, ive had a lot of kiras diadems before. You just cant upgrade if its already the elite version.
Edit, you can only upgrade a white base item if it is the normal version and non superior, to make runewords make sure you upgrade a normal or exceptional base or just find an elite base. Good luck my friend.

Not all elite white bases are best for runewords for instance chains of honor I use in a dusk shroud, it has low requirements and because of the str added on coh your sorceress chick looks like shes naked. No naked killing when pvp starts by the way. That’s bad action.

Hmm, what is the recipe for upgrading normal base to exceptional o elite then? What I know, you can only upgrade uniques that are none runewords.

There are the recipes that upgrade the quality for rare and unique gear. And there are recipes to upgrade low-quality gear to normal quality, but I don’t know of any recipes that upgrade normal quality to exceptional or elite.
