So I’ve been playin d2 for years on top of years. I always figured finding a unique in a superchest was not possible as all I’ve ever seen was all blue or all yellow… BUT I finally found my first unique super chest. Only cash and uniques inside of course. 4 uniques. All pretty crappy in the sense that non were elite… BUT THERE IS SUCH THING AS UNIQUE SUPERCHESTS!
RIGHT!!!? How many of those have you found? Coincidentally that was the same chest I got my uniques out of. Except it was iron jang crap, silks of victor and something else
Just one so far. Pretty rare. If you roll dice long enough all outcomes occur.
Honestly it was a little depressing.
…
“I’ve peaked this route.”
Ya that wasn’t much better than my loot either. But the fact they exist intrigues me. Does mf affect the superchest loot drops in the same way as a normal chest? They obviously don’t occur often as I’ve been playing d2 for 21 years. Funny things is… I’ve found just about everything except tyreals might and a zod rune over those years. And only ever seen 1 unique superchest. How rare can THOSE be? I mean there might only be anywhere fro 1 to 6 of them in a map. So obviously the chances of getting one decrease massively compared to normal looting crate/barrels/box’s/sarcophagus’s/chests. Imma look into these more and I’ll tell ya if I figure anything pertinent arises bud.
MF has 0 effect on super chest. I think there’s a 2% drop chance for unique. Probably a wiki page or forum post about it if you do some googlizing
As far as I know D2R sparkly chests function the same as D2 sparkly chests. MF does not affect them.
D2 Wiki Source.
“Sparkly chests are special glowing chests that may drop multiple items, including multiple set, rare, or unique items. Not all chests that drop like a “sparkly chest” are actually sparkly. Their drop odds are calculated in unusual fashion, and magic find does not affect their gifts.”
Pure Diablo Source.
“MF works with most of the chests. Only super chests (3 chests in LK around the fire, end-chests in Arcane Sanctuary, the central chest behind Mephisto etc.) have fixed magic quality drops. Magic items will drop 95% of time, rare items will drop 5% of time (yes, all items dropped will be rare); MF is not used. Sparkly chests (like the one in the Pit 2) have also high chance to generate fixed magic quality drop, they can generate even unique or set drops.”
