A while back; I recall folks talkin’ about the extra slots in the game-files related to runewords. The runewords where listed sequentially with gaps in the list. As far as I know it hasen’t been confirmed if those are empty placeholders or runewords that haven’t been discovered.

all runewords are known but i believe there are 2 not in the game.
There is plague and 1 other not in game
Plague could be implemented though quite usefull for assasins and makes cham used in smthg useful
There are unreleased/non-activated runewords, not undiscovered.

Only the last one has effects added to it – but it is not enabled.
In addition, there’s a lot of ‘words’ that don’t have any runes assigned in a Runes.txt file that’s been around for a long time, that is or were a part of an update.mpq file in D2 LoD.
Wonder could also have been ment for Orbs. They can get up to 3 socs.
There is several runewords which werent used in files. They were never activated.
They’re set up to be used for the item type Wands – not the item type Sorceress Orbs
But that could be a typo on the devs part in the files.
