Ultimate Auradin Guide [Dragondin, Tesladin, Frostdin, Auradin, etc.]

I haven’t thought about Stormlash with a Facet, because I found it too expensive to repair it all the time, but it is indeed a great option.
But yea, I agree Stormlash would be a geat alternative to CM or Grief, fits somewhere in the middle.

Sadly I can’t edit the post anymore, because they locked it.

I recrunched the numbers to see what is the optimal pulse damage.

The winner is the dragondin (+HoJ) with a self cast Holy shock max level, a 3 fire facet helmet and an infinity merc (holy freeze).

Hybrid dragondin self cast holyshock
normal Infinity proced
Non immu 8477 13031
Immu fire 3556 6025
Immu light 6992 10444
Pal 2dragon+hoj+ self convi
normal convi proced
Non immu 6992 10358
Immu Fire 2072 3625

However, several issues on this setup :

  • Many more skill points used (as you need to max light AND fire resist AND Salvation AND holy shock) - 80 pts vs 40 pts. It leaves less room for others skills (zeal, holy shield,…).
-Best choice is to get the two sunder charms (fire sunder is mandatory) but you loose resistances and room in inventory.
  • As the conviction is ‘wielded’ by the merc, it can takes some times to proc (you may loose one tick of enhanced damage). If compared with a classic dragondin with self cast conviction (and proced), it doesnt change anything for the fire immune but you loose ±20% dmg vs non immune to fire.
  • With this setup, you can’t have a mercadin (can help in pulse damage, see above) and you can’t have a merc with plague runeword for lower resist proc.

What if I wanted an auradin using harmony or eternity for revives, playing like a summoner and staying back pwnjng all stuff with pulse damage? Is it possible to get good with weapons slots otherwise occupied?

Would there be a cheaper, first week of hc ladder build?

Crazy Setup, but I like the way you think.
Though I think that the self cast Holy Fire is still bit better, because of better min damage. But I compair it against cows, so I also get different numbers.

You can kill yourself as a paladin, when you use revive.
Beside of that, you could use Dual Dream, to get the most out of it. Not only because your pulse damage would be the highest, but also due to confusion.
Another thing you could do is using conversion.

Sounds like a fun build, something in between a Tesladin and a Hydradin.

The cheapest Auradin is the Budget Tesladin, but not worth it in Hell. The overall cheapest and actually usefull one is the Dragondin with “just” 3 Sur, 3 Lo and 1 Cham. The helmet isn’t mandatory at all, but a nice piece to upgrade

As for the dragon (+HOJ) and self cast holy fire, here are the numbers  There is quite a big difference foe the immunes fire (who are the most numerous and problematic foes).

dragondin self cast holyfire 35 + 3firefacet helm
normal Infinity
Non immu 8663 12834
Immu fire 2567 3658

Another very good combination is the full holy shock. I mean dual dream and self cast holy shock (+ holy freeze/infinity merc) and with full facets (4 on armor and 6 on weapon). You can also get a crescent moon but you lower your pulse damage for static field.

THe advantage of this composition is that you only need one sunder charm and less skill points. However, it could lead to struggle versus bosses immune to lighting. a dragon/hoj swap should help ;).

This build really do huge damage even if conviction do not proc and not much enemies are immune to light. It seems very reliable.

Pal Dream + self cast + full facet + mec infinity
normal Infinity
Non immu 8604 11472
immu 3155 4130

That’s pretty much that build

Nice and very informative. I am current using scepter hoj with 3holy shock +dual dragon+3offensive amulet+3offensive tiara socked with 2x fire facets+skill belt and rings, with full offensive skillers. A2 holy freeze Merc carries infinity. Is this the highest aura damage set up?
Another interesting question is if i self cast a lvl44 holyfire with the item provided lvl44 holyfire. what happens? will they buggly added up to each other? or just one of aura actually hits? we know the item provided aura bug is that the aura damage is actually calculated by 3 for hoj_dual dragon or by 2 for dual dream.

Thanks

Fanatism (yes, really!), sundered Charm, zeal and it’s synergy sacrifice

^^ can you help me with the skill tree more specifically please?

and is the inventory just res scs and off gcs with life ideally?

or max ar life etc?

could really use the tesladin skill tree and inventory loadout, im a little confused here what gcs/scs to get for him, cheers!

Whatever you want man.
But Light SCs are BIS, I also use some AR, Life, Res Charms

last question why not doom for holy freeze auradin?

Think i figured it out, for the higher attacks per second, but he still needs 5 more ias to reach max breakpoint, the 10 from the belt is nice, but doesn’t quite get us there.

Because you can’t make a Doom in a Caduceus, so you lose on +3 to Holy Freeze, which adds more aura damage.
Additionally due to Fanatism, you gain far more single target damage as well.

Dooms Holy Freeze also doesn’t add that much damage. Though I started my Frostdin with a Doom Berserker Axe, than transitioned to a faceted Azurewrath and than I baught a +3 Holy Freeze 5OS Caduceus and made a beast in it.

Hey mate so Ive played Dragondin/FOH hybrid and had an absolute BLAST til I ripped in HC

Had a 2 skill tele charge ammy which solved the minor issues for some areas

Currently thinking about going again but your Zeus build has me intrigued as Ive been contemplating a way to get tele with FOH and pulse damage. My question I cant seem to solidly figure out in testing is how are you getting the 8k pulse damage? Ive been trying to test in single player with running 2x Dream AND self casting holy shock but I cant reasonably tell if/when the damage difference occurs its just higher pulse damage from Dream or actually getting Dream + self cast damage simultaneously?

Edit - think I just saw the line in your first post about self cast and item cast auras do NOT overwrite each other but just looking to confirm that

I got those numbers from Maxroll.
Dual Dream casts 2 seperate Holy Shock auras onto you.
Self Cast Holy Shock adds a 3rd one.
Then add Conviction from your Infinity merc.
Additional Facets in your Sword or Caduceus (with +3 Holy Shock)

That adds a lot of damage, but the radius is smaller than those from Dual Dragon and HOJ.
And the highest possible damage is within the Conviction aura.

Hey there, i am building a frostdin (sort of Izual themed character) and i was thinking about using a faceted azurewrath like you said. Is the difference between that and caduceus beast that high or i ll be fine? I will mostly play p1 to p3. Also: is nosferatu needed for ias together with hl and loh or not? Final and dumb question: i was thinking about eth exile just for the looks (this is an estetically pleasant build afterall), would dmg, compared to faceted zaka, be that much lower? Anyway thanks for this guide, i ve been playing tesla and auradin following it and had a blast

Overall, I would take HoZ over Exile, because of the higher Zeal dps.
But if you want that “freeze target”, Exile is a great choice.
The Aura pulse Damage isn’t much of a difference.

With Beast in an +3 Holy Freeze Caduceus, you deal more Zeal damage, do more Pulse Damage and the Aura radius is bigger. You are also more flexible with your gear.

Nosferatu isn’t needed, but recommended because the IAS and life leech, but you can achiev better breakpoints with LOH if needed (also LOH is blue <3).
Gold wrap is also an alternative, because of the +10 IAS but also because it’s blue.
