Hopefully a simple question:
The three minor Uber boss portals disappeared when I exited the game after I only killed one. Once I am able to open the Uber Tristram portal will it become a permanent feature of that game and not disappear if I exit like the others?

Nothing about the world map persists after you close the game (for offline single player play the map layout will stay the same, but be repopulated, for online it is regenerated), only your character and items in inventory/stash and equipped are saved when you exit a game. This is why Waypoints exist to retain some map progress, since portals will disappear, and on Online play, maps are randomly regenerated every game.
You must do the portals after opening them, or you lose access to them. Often people do them all the in the same game to avoid repeats.
Ugh. Not what I was hoping to hear, but thanks. I only play single player which helps. I was hoping this might be an (the) “exception” to the general rule about portals. I also hear you can’t set up Town Portals in Uber Tristram? I eventually rebuilt a Smite Paladin to run them, but I am just getting used to the game play of that and it’ll take a while before I even try the minors.
Played the game for 16 years and this is the first time I’ve given this a try, so I at least have virtually all the equipment for a Smiter (except the really high-level rune words).

Indeed you can’t open TP on Utristam, bet advice, make a smiter, treachery, a good 4os shield with 45+ res, put 4 pdiamonds in it, make black runeword (cheapest weapon to uber), gore riders or goblin toe) you don’t need gg end gear to ubers. Just don’t lure them close to the portal, watch some videos of ppl doing it, you should lure mephisto to the top left, baal to the bottom right and diablo you can trash him anywhere. But if they kill you on top of the portal you will never get back in for your corpse, you will get camped and will constantly die trying. Its not hard to do, just get an idea before doing it
Also a tip about opening them… common mistake is to make them all standing by stash. They will all spawn on top of each other saw a guy do that once (for the organ key bosses.)
That exactly happened to me the first time I did the Ubers. Tried ~10 times and was constantly dying, but a miracle happened and I was able to live few seconds and drag Meph with court out of portal. So never play around near the entrance now)
Useful trick in online is when you die - just exit the game and go back to pick the body. But be sure you remembered game name/password before leaving. Doesn’t work in offline mode.
