First, I just wanted to say thank you to all those who have been answering my questions and willing to trade. I find this community very supportive, which is awesome.
Question. I was AFK and about to fight ancients in hell… when I came back and went to fight them, Uber D spawned as well, which filled me with a sense of awe (first time encountering him) and fear because now I was fighting ancients as well lol
Anyways, I was caught off guard and died. My question, can I fight him again if he kills me? I went back to ancients, activitated the alter and he didn’t respawn. Just wondering if I only have one shot at him?
Also, tried a different toon in the hopes that he would spawn, but didn’t.
When DClone spawns, it becomes a ‘normal’ monster within your game. You can die normally and he will be waiting in the same location. However, as the place where he was generated was in the ancients, maybe he doesn’t appear anymore due to the own mechanics of how the ancients are generated. The moment you died, he left your game immediately.
It’s hard to confirm this because it’s very rare to see someone spawn DClone in the arreat summit
If you have situation like this and your game is password protected just go to forums and ask for help. There are many people who can kill it for you w/o taking your anni.
One thing no idea what toon you were playing but best chance you have to deal with him or most monsters in the game is both a tough toon and lots and lots of crushing blow damage, Crushing blow is key
The two toons I have killed the most with were a Palidin using ‘smite’ doesn’t do well against anything except bosses with again lots and lots of additional crushing blow damage, My other toon was a kick sin with lots and lots of crushing blow damage good luck friend. This was in the original Diablo II mind you since I haven’t managed to put together a toon and get him/her that far
That is not correct, my Wind Druid has absolutely no Crushing Blow, but it managed to kill him easily. The real key affix for this fight is Prevent Monster Heal or Open Wounds to stop his insane HP regeneration. Once he can’t recover life he is not that much harder than ordinary Diablo to beat.
OK I’m just saying that’s how I and my friends beat him, Oh and it’s very unusual to kill an uber using ordinary damage as all of the Ubers have Extremely High Resistances “How much does Uber Mephisto resist?
Über Mephisto Cold Resist75
Lightning Resist 110
Poison Resist 110”
I guess even when ancient transform into diablo clone, he retain his ancient flag and is despawned when tp is used or when you die. Kind of unlucky place to spawn him there lol.
"Easily explaining Crushing Blow, Deadly Strike, and Open Wounds
A lot of people get mixed up with these and just generally think “ouu, the more the better with all of these.” True. But I am going to try and explain them a little easier.
Crushing Blow:
Basically crushing blow works like static field, it reduces the enemies life by a percentage of their remaining life.
When a crushing blow procs, if melee (the most effective), it will take 1/4 of remaining life by default, 1/8 if you are attacking a boss. This drops off to 1/8 and 1/16 for ranged attacks respectively.
Crushing blow damages AS WELL as your normal damage from your attack.
Deadly Strike:
Deadly strike is the chance to do double damage.
Does NOT work with Smite.
Open Wounds:
Makes target bleed, thus losing hp over time (generally not much).
Not able to resist.
All of these attributes will get a +chance from items. If you have a 70% chance to cast Crushing Blow from your gear, then you will hit a crushing blow on 7/10 attacks."
I am aware what these features do, and therefore I claim CB alone isn’t a key stat against Diablo Clone. True, it’ll help greatly to bring him to low life state quicker, but then, as CB deal % of current health, his very high regeneration will likely outpace extra damage dealt by CB, prolonging the fight, or making him impossible to defeat.
