Saw the messages that Diablo has invaded sanctuary, went to Chaos Sanc, popped seal but nothing. Tried the Cairn Stones guy, also nothing.
Why the heck didn’t I get an Uber Diablo spawn? I literally was waiting for it all night. Total BS.

same just happened to me. made a game, waited in A5, went to frigid and nothing. checked chaos, tristram, etc. NOTHING. SUPER pissed that i didn’t get a chance for the ani… wtf…
It could be any super rare in the game. For me since I was in act 1 when event occurred it was corpsefire in den of evil

While it can be any super unique, it actually spawns at the first one you are near after the message spawns so you can effectively control where Diablo Clone spawns. At least, that’s how it worked in D2: LoD. There’s a super unique in Palace Level 3 that a lot of people use by taking WP to Arcane Sanctuary and then going backwards. Shenk/Eldritch are also usually decent locations but more likely someone will come there if it’s a public game and you’re trying to get him solo

managed to get him both times yesterday, so all good now. but i know i did everything right the first night (killed him many times in solo play), so def still confused about how I missed him then… oh well, just have to assume it wouldve been a SHT roll anni
got him again and managed to roll 20/19/9. woohoo!!

PSA for people googling this… The D-Clone spawn seems different in D2R. I was in a game and was chilling in the bloody foothills when the message popped that “Diablo has invaded Sanctuary!”.
It would seem that I had already spawned in the super unique near frigid because D-clone wasn’t there (near Eldritch and Snenk). So I ran to the imp guy in-between bloody foot hills and frigid but still nothing. I was about to leave the game thinking it had bugged but I decided to check the entire A5 before giving up. Lol. I was running though act 5 and he spawned at the first super unique that I had not already seen in Frigid highlands… The guy near the first set of cages. Sharptooth is his name I think.

I had a similar situation to this, had cleared around the armorer in the barracks, but engaged him and no diablo spawned. (possible I had spawned the armorer earlier though and didn’t realise)
Fought about another 6 super uniques, and he never spawned in my game.
I had done a lot in that game beforehand, such as stony field and cows, and a lvl 85 area. Might be my game glitched out, will make sure I am on a fresh game next time.
