If random modders can add an area, I think blizz can too, they have the means, just not the will.

Arena would be really nice yeah or couple various zones just for pvp where authout of game could maybe ban some things.

Now that they’ve gotten rid of the legacy graphics, things might become easier for the devs moving forward.

Releasing only a new class seems a bit odd, so hopefully it’s part of something bigger.

Devs said something like “this dlc is a test opener and if it goes well then they might add more in the future”.

Than the test failed

Modifying items & such is probably tenfold easier than the graphics development of an area. Probably a lot more time consuming as well. Only taking a guess here, but the new uniques & runewords are really just modifying or changing existing assets. New Uber bosses are the same, just like new boss in Terror Zones. New area would require graphic design, I again assume this is not something they can take assets from say Act 2 and just change the skin (like almost every *$&# stupid NMD is in D4, same dungeon just different skin).

As Kaelos said, this ROTW is an opening that we could someday see a new area. Even if not a full act, maybe Golden City lol.

Random modder does this for free. Do you expect Blizzard employees to do the same?

Modders haven’t managed to allow runes and gems to stack normally or to build something like what came with the update with the chest.

All mods were very cumbersome when it came to stacking… That’s why D2R has to be structured differently than D2, because as we can now see, it was possible to do it like in “POE”… So I think it would be possible for them to create new acts or maps by now.

Maybe D2R will be “opened up” for modding at some point… but it seems that this hasn’t happened yet because they still have something “planned”… and hopefully more (depending on how well the warlock update is received – statement from a dev).

What a dumb counter argument when the DLC costs money

Even more reason to have it then

LOL…what?

And…

ROTW=$25, full expansion=$40+

For you yes, for the normal folks no
