Turning/Rotating DEVS

Add an option to use 360 degree turn (character movement) please so that the game would look a look smoother. Just like the controller

this game should not even use this same grid system

Not part of the original game so this would be a stupid amount of development work for such a silly reason. It isn’t part of the genre, isometric view is staple for arpg and they sure aren’t doing it for d3 or d4 so this ain’t happenin on d2r… if you notice, all changes they are making with d2r are extremely simplistic so that their interns can keep d2r alive while their actual developers all work on d4…

Huh? Is there a language barrier here? I play with controller, there is nothing in d2/d3/d4/d2r other than isometric view lol

It feels like he’s talking about the character movement. I haven’t used controller though, does the movement look smoother with them?

Oh I see, if that is the case then yes controller movement feels so smooth, makes playing d2 with a mouse feel like you’re clicking on a giant chessboard instead which in many ways it is… love how nicely your character turns and how much modulation you get over walking & running. Not sure how they would translate this to the mouse but one could hold shift and click while dragging the cursor around their character, close enough?

That was my guess because I know with mouse they rotate immediately so if it’s slowed for controller it could look like a smooth 180 turn.

I think the controller is much easier to do because during rotation it’s grabbing the rotation information from the analog stick. So you can have degrees of rotation. If you tried to do it with a mouse the game would need to assume more information about intent.

If you just go from left to right without rotation does the character rotate immediately like PC or still smooth?
If so then they are already doing the guess work.
