You can just farm anywhere and everywhere, encourage a more “normal” playthrough in each subsequent play session, less game remakes on battle.net etc.
What do you guys think?

I think its a good idea to have variety for farming. Yes.
But also I would like it to be in some way optional and not forced by beating Hell difficulty. Beating all quests for Hell difficulty should be a requirement though.
For example you beat Ubers, and they drop the Standard of heroes. It becomes consumable. Consuming the Standard of Heroes makes your character have all areas 85 from that point on.
If you want to disable it, you consume another Standard of heroes and it goes back to default values.
Nah you just turn it off and on after activating it. Once you’ve proven you can beat Ubers once, no point in making people go back just for that. And make the standards non-tradeable.
So is it just per character then? What happens if someone is not within the requirements in a game, and then you join it, is everything lvl 85 then, or just for the player with the activation.
If that is the case, is there a loot option to make it so people who haven’t done the requirements can’t get those drops?
Does an entire new game creation mode get implemented? Splitting players between standard of heroes and non activated variants?
So many questions.
This doesn’t even tackle in the question of how they implement monsters to that variety everywhere.
Fair enough. Simply it should be optional.
Yes. You can join such game and reap benefits.
Point is to have maximum variety of farming in endgame. Endgame is part of game where players spend most of their time. Farming one location over and over is boring. What they did last patch with allowing more lvl 85 areas was good direction.
You answered part of my question.
So I follow you with that part, but what about the part where the other players can reap the benefits of your character.
If you play in a group, anything you kill becomes level 85, and its the same for everyone else?
So that means they have to deal with higher health, more affixes, and the such. What if they don’t want that? It was their game they created, this just makes private games more sought after, unless you want to just leech and try to get some high tier drops.
They would also give more exp because the monster is a higher level.
There are way to many factors to consider with just allowing anyone to join with the SoH and enabling lvl 85 everywhere when they join.
I think it would have to be a game creation feature, IF it was ever implemented. (Honestly I don’t see it happening, but I wont say never)
I don’t know about you, but when I complete hell, my character is quite weak to do lvl 85 areas. Nor it is level 85+ for the optimal experience in those areas.
But mainly, areas don’t have to be lvl 85 to be worth clearing. Anything 80+ is great
How you complete the game if Chaos and WSK/ToD are 85lvl areas!?!?!
I think you complicate it too much, but lets answer all parts. Its tiring to answer those though .
Same. No practical reason to not be the same.
Yes and no. I dont see where you get the higher health, more affixes and such things? I didnt say it would be changed. Simple example: Blood moor lvl85 Fallen would have the same stats as now. Aside chance to hit for melee I think it changes nothing. Correct me if.
I said it must be optional setting by some setting in game creation or something. And you can join, or you may not.
I probably dont understand this problem. I see it in practical way that everyone aside playthrough games in online would be creating lvl85 games as aside playthrough part of game (which is really little part) it has only benefits.
Yes you can leech. I dont think leeching can stop anyway… People join baal games to go to Lower kurast chests or Travincal or etc.
Yes. And I see no problem with that.
Forget the idea of SoH. I simply meant some way to optionally trigger lvl85 areas. Be it in options a simple On/Off that activates when you finish all Hell quests or other way.
Noone says they do it. I would be even surprised if they even take upon some ideas shared on these forums and implement it.
This has been requested for a long time yet they only changed boring areas in 2.4 lol
But alvl is one part of the fight
They should also normalize the number of monsters per area
Some areas are devoided of monster, making them alvl 85 wouldn’t make them much more interesting
Making breakable act like evil urns when they spawn monsters would also be a great addition to lots of areas
Better just add custom 80-99 lvl for monsters.
Fixed.
Idk about changing monster density everywhere. It sounds good on paper but homogenizing everything is bad. Your adding variety to farming while removing it from monster density that makes areas unique from each other.
I have not issues changing red portals or areas no one ever goes, but not everything. Most areas are fine how they are
Aim higher, level 90+ after Baal, Cows, and Ubers with a Standard of Heroes in your inventory or via cube recipe.
Now that would be some end game.
And they could make the game creation require those things to join a multi game pretty easily. There would need to be a wall, imo, so it felt earned and not just anyone joining some elite game. Most people have done all that within a couple weeks anyway at least on one character.
I don’t think you understand how the human brain works in regard to dopamine, desire and the pursuit of happiness. People would just farm Bone Ash, Aldritch, Shenk and Pindle for experience and mf.
I think people will still find the optimal single area to farm and it becomes the new meta. I don’t think it’s bad that every area becomes level 85, but I think it would be worthless gameplay wise for most people.
Everything still does in one hit from most meta builds, so it doesn’t change difficulty. And within a week the farming meta will go to the most dense area/most elite pack area.
It would benefit people that want to farm the whole game, but I think most will gravitate to the most efficient areas for their build/play style.
I think that is a pretty poor use for the standards of heroes. Beating the ubers with a paladin is super easy to do and should not be used as a gatekeeping option to open up level 85 areas for the whole game’d difficulty.
Yeah but if you had to do it on your sorc in order for the sorc to get the benefit, it makes it much more interesting.
Not to mention right now there is NO use for the SoH. And Ubers are all we have as a line to get to harder content. Beat the game, kill Tristram, pick up the standard, profit. That’s at least something. And it entails key farming as well, which is the hardest part for some builds.
I find that level 85 should be reserved for optional areas of the game until you hit Acts 4 and 5. Namely the following:
Act 1:
The Cave
Crypt
Mausoleum
Underground Passage 2
The Hole
The Pit
Tower Cellar 1-5
Act 2:
Stony Tomb 1-2
Halls of the Dead 1-3
Ancient Tunnels
Maggot Lair 1-3(while not skippable, incentives players to walk it rather than Teleport)
Tal Rasha Tomb(False ones)
Act 3:
Arachnid Lair
Swampy Pit 1-3
Sewers 1-2
All Temples(including Ruined Temple)
Travincal(level 82 already)
Durance of Hate 1-3
Act 4&5: All of it
Secret Cow level: Level 90
Ubers: Level 90
Uber Tristram: Level 95+
If implemented correctly, and with understanding, I don’t think I would have a problem with it.
