Leeching in a game is not a product but a service. If it requires time from me it cant be a product. Just like massage is a service not a product. Or getting a new haircut.
A wig however is a product. It doesnt require my time. I pay and get it instant and i can choose to sell it to someone else. Meat is a product. But paying someone to breed, feed and kill the animal so u can get meat is not a product but a service.
When u leech u are playing the game for the person. Gearboosting isnt a product its a service. U pay for the sellers time/skill to do a certain task for u.

Any tuna that he catches when I am not present can not be given to me. One of us on the charter might catch a tuna. We may go home empty handed if the fish RNG gods do not co-operate (i.e., D3)

It looks like people are splitting hairs. If you pay for a service to acquire a good, it’s not really different than paying for the good itself. At least not in Diablo - which is where it’s relevant.
My position is that I want botting and rmt to stop, but it’s never going to as long as people believe their character or the items on it are worth time and therefore worth money. Even if trade was taken away, people would still decide that account services are valuable. People offering services will bot and get people banned, deservedly. People will offer services by hand at a premium.
The best way to put a dent in botting is to remove free trade, but it’s not worth it. Anybody who thinks it is worth it has a bad brain.
