I am only playing Offline Normal and have 3 of each character class (e.g. 1 ice sorcerer, 1 fire sorcerer, 1 lightning sorcerer, etc.)
I have been keeping set, unique, and other valuables all in Normal. Every class is at least lvl 24 but some are at the end of Act V lvls 48-52.
When I transition a character to Nightmare will I be able to access the 3 shared stashes of my other characters still in Normal?
Many people advise farming NM Andariel, etc. for runes/uniques/sets/bases/etc. But unless all my characters are in Nightmare using the 3 Nightmare shared stashes, then all the valuable stuff I found in Normal is inaccessible - is that correct?
I’m guessing only each individual character’s personal stash and inventory gets moved on to Nightmare.

yes ofcourse you can access any shared stash on any character
as for personal stash, that can only be accessed by that specific character
The three shared stash tabs are accessible by any characters that are in the same mode of play. (Online ladder characters for example) The achieved difficulty ranking of the characters don’t matter. So a hell difficulty character can transfer items via the shared tabs to a level 1 character that is the same gameplay mode.
The character stash tabs are not accessible from other characters. Any items you want to move between characters must be in a shared stash tab.
So . . . I can share items between my level 52 Amazon in Nightmare via. a shared stash and my level 24 Barbarian in Normal via. a shared stash because my mode of play is always Offline, single player?
Correct.
The only two differing modes of play offline are hardcore and softcore, which can’t share items between each other. (Excluding Classic, because it has no shared stash)
