Hey guys, trading in D2 was horrible, and it still is in D2R to be honest.
I tried to find a proper website where I can post my items and trade them with people (co scams no RMT none-sense) but you can not find any out there. The ones that do exist are horrible to use. Outdated, extremely slow, or barely used.
That being said, I am a professional coder for almost 20 years now (software and websites). I would like to build a platform where people can trade their stuff in a fast and easy way. This comes out of my own frustration and me being a super Diablo fan. Played since Diablo 1 ^^
The platform will be easy to use, will look good and most important it will always be working super fast.
My question now is, would you guys be interested in such a platform (totally free, no strings attached) and if you, would anyone be interested in becomming a moderator for it to let people know it is out there and to help me keep things in shape?
Hope to hear from you guys 
i.e. if we decide to build such a thing, suggestions for features would be highly appreciated

yeah but thats not really trading with options like “looking for…” and “highest bidder” stuff like that, proper trading… not “make a post and see who will reply”
The community has enough trading platforms that work, problem is a lot of people don’t want them, they want an in game hub of sort to initiate trading, nothing external or any 3rd party website

all you have to do is make it an option to list more then one item and have it maybe similar to the way POD trade site works but just in game, where you can share item offers inquiries and then decide to meet and trade

Yes. Obviously there is a great website for it in many ways.
Except:
-That website is ran by some sort of mafia syndicate who themselves and buddies have endless currency and even sell it for real money.
-Currency carries over from one ladder to the next and even from one game to another.
And that is why blizzard should make their own website which is functionally as good as that website, but without those 2 glaring issues. The game should have links in it that open a browser to the site where you automatically log in with your blizzard account to make it all as easy and accessible as possible so that the majority of players will go there.
Because as it stands now, there is a blizzard site noone visits or knows about, there are maybe a few other sites noone knows about and trading in game doesnt really work. So while said site is horrible because of those 2 issues, we cant really blame anyone from going there.

What I need in trading is the ability to trade with people who are off-line. This lets me arrange a trade through some site and make good on it and not have to arrange schedules so we are both on at the same time.
I don’t have the time to be online 10 hours a day and be available to jump in a game and deliver items at any time. I need to drop an item somewhere that the guy I’m trading with can pick it up when he is able.

But that is exactly where i think it could all go wrong and into “D3 AH” territory.
There needs to be some burden to trading to prevent items from becoming entirely worthless as soon as supply surpasses demand and 2 weeks into the ladder you can have your whole character equipped with near top items in a minute.

simply join chat ‘trade’ channel and you be golden 
Dont know what you are playing, but in my game, there’s noone paying attention to the trade channel. There’s barely any games to join either…

Trading in D2 requires you to go into games with other players and interact with them. It also requires finding someone who needs what you have…
There are two major problems with D2 and trading.
- Max players per game is 8.
- 99% of the junk people want to trade is actually vendor trash.
There are already many websites/forums that have trading functions. The problem here is everyone is not using the same one. Then you add the fact that you may want what I have, but you are not available to make the trade right now. I don’t want to wait for you, so I keep looking for someone who can make the trade right now. This is why people like trading in game and not on forums.

Don’t know what you’re smoking, but at least you acknowledge that there IS a trade channel. 
I don’t think this game was even made with large scale trading in mind, it was just added but never was meant to have larger scale. Something like trading in the 8 people party, but not global.
Agreed, state of Diablo2’s trading features is abysmal or non-existent.
However, besides sites that promote actual pay-to-win like D2JSP (I do not condone this, and it is against Blizzard EULA), there are some already out there with a sizeable community, such as Diablo 2 IO (just Google “Diablo 2 IO”) that do not promote the use of real money or alternative currencies outside of the game.

D2JSP is not against EULA, like selling items for cash is but they are not selling items for cash, they are selling items for their own currency, that is not real. Anyway you can already find items sold for real cash, and not even small cash. There is no way to implement any kind of trading that wont get ruined by people. Only thing they can do is pull D3 on it and call it a day.

I never played PoE, but i saw kripp using a website where you could search for items & contact the seller. ( only ingame currency - no rmt )
Would love to have something similar for d2.
