I had nearly a perfect Amazon torch. I put it in my cube to pick something up. When I went to get it back, it was gone. I thought that maybe I had dropped it but I was sure that I seen it in the cube. I double checked the ground where I did this, and it is no wheres in sight. I literally spent a half hour combing every pixel of the are that I was in and it just disappeared. Can someone please tell me how this happened, or if it has happened to them? I was thinking that maybe this was a duped item and blizzard just made it go poof once it got out of my inventory, but that does not make sense as those that dupe, trade the duped items, so if blizzard was to delete them, they hurt the legit players trading and not the cheaters. Please give me your thoughts as I am upset that I lost my torch

If it was a duped torch it would absolutely clash and poof, but it would be happen when you left a game and would be missing when you joined one. As for blizzard hurting legit players, legit players are the scum on the bottom of their shoe and they absolutely dgaf about hurting them by automatically deleting dupes, in the past even running rust storm to rip runes out of completed runewords. Blizzard’s preferred end user are the RMT botters who buy tens to hundreds of licenses apiece, that’s why spam has been always been allowed in the ‘Lobby’ and why you aren’t allowed to leave that ‘channel’.

d2jsp is not the source of botters, dupers, and cheaters. Surely it is not innocent and originated as a botting forum, but that sort of discussion will lead to a ban these days.
Judging by the OP’s story, the torch likely did not get deleted due to duping but was lost due to user error or some glitch that was introduced by D2R. If it were a dupe delete then it would have been missing on join, not mid-game after putting it in a cube. Not that I’ve ever done so before, but I certainly wont be storing torches in the cube.
if you ordered a pizza with duped pepperoni and botted pineapple and RMT cheese, and it were cut into 16 slices, 15 of those slices would be D2jsp.
Haha, perhaps. But most jspers wouldn’t dare trade clashable duped pizza because they dont want their precious nerd coins to get locked. My point is just that you can’t solely blame d2jsp, it’s not the source but merely the medium. Like a hydra, cut off it’s head and two more will take it’s place. All (In)Active-Buzzard can do is ban botters, but they won’t even try to do that much.
Sorry that happened. You probably dropped it on accident or lifted your cube with a full inventory and it spilled out and someone snatched it. My advice for next time is just to try and click the item with your inventory open to drop it in your cube instead of putting your torch in it.
Its unlikely it was duped, AFAIK there is no known duping method currently.
Likely you dropped it on the ground accidentally, maybe you picked up your cube by accident which makes everything in cube drop, or you accidentally sold to a vendor.
other possibility these guys haven,t yet mention
character file size overload(too much item in inv//storage and your stuff poofed)
they haven’t fixed files size issue entirely yet…only the ladder stash problem for time being has been fix
