Too much of a coward to roll Call to Arms

I found an Ohm but apprehensive about making a CTA. I’ll probably roll +2 BO given my bad luck. I have only been playing for a month and probably less due to the servers and don’t have any plus skills gear other than the helm and shield. I should have at least +6 to skills to make CTA worthwhile because casting BO every minute would be a PITA. If I roll a +2 BO or worse and with +6 skills that’s still a minute and a half extra life and mana.

Just my take on it. I’d use that ohm to gear up then. Maybe you’ll find another ohm down the line.

I just rolled a +2 BO last night. Much regret with 20/20 hindsight.

Took the risk and will probably have to wait many more days to see another OHM or even an IST at the rate I’m going.

That’s the RNG life.

I found an Ohm in Halls the other day (highest rune id ever found) and I dont really wanna make a CTA yet on my WW druid, plenty of life.

REALLY wanna trade the Ohm + whatever someone wants for a Lo rune to finish my Fortitude

The gains from CTA are not worth the cost at the moment. You’re better using any runes you get to buy improved gear. You will only serve to benefit from CTA once you’re comfortably geared.

This is just my take on this though, others might disagree.

Get the Fortitude with your trade! Don’t pull a me.

Fortitude is a solid goal and is right behind Insight in terms of utility.

If you are level 90+ then call to arms is worth it. If you are less than 90 just take the rare death from reduced life and use that ohm to gear up.

What I need is another Ohm or a Lo to make Fortitude. I’ll wait until I can really use CTA. It’s more of a luxury than necessity.

I rolled one already, got 4/2/4. I was hoping for a 6/6/X, as I would have sold it. Oh well. I use it to buff up for Diablo/Throneroom/Baal.

OP, I feel your pain, buddy! I really do. I’m the same kind of coward, have 15x3 keysets in my tab, and a fairly well-equipped “budget” smiter leveled, ready to go. I just can’t seem to screw up the courage needed to start organ/torch farming. What’s wrong with us???

Seriously, I was in the same boat a couple of weeks ago. Found an Ohm (Tunnels), and stared at it a few days, trying to decide to trade it for something or pray to RNGesus and roll a CTA. Finally, I just said (literally), “To hell with it!” and built the CTA.

Rolled a 4/5, which isn’t great, but better than a terrible roll. Haven’t priced it, as I decided to let my MF Sorc keep it. Her life went from 1200 to 2000, so I’m now able to add Chaos and Baal easily to my rotation.

Sorry for the long post, but I’m just trying to say is that a lot of us have been exactly where you are, and doing nothing is worse than taking a chance or making the trade!

Sometimes, it’s best to jump in with both feet. And when you figure out how, help me to convince my smiter to come out of retirement!

Well, see it like this: any CTA is still better than no CTA

Just remember, this isn’t ladder yet, not THAT important.

I’ve had the materials to make CtA since week one but haven’t made it yet. Why not? Because it’s pretty un-necessary for most PvM. We all get through hell without CtA, no problem. And I get it, it is “the best” to use in your off-weapon swap, there’s “no reason not to”. Except, again, that it’s pretty un-necessary for most PvM. I also don’t enjoy the whole if it rolls low you’re gonna be spending and wasting so much time buffing and rebuffing for life and mana you’ll likely never even need or use, so what is even the point

And again I want to stress, I know how good CtA is. No need to tell me how much I’m wrong :upside_down_face:

I know the feeling…

Took me days to build up the confidence to craft a bramble (ohm & sur) because it can roll from 25% to 50% poison damage.

I got 30% and cried… lol i wish i had made a cta instead!

I was thinking something like this unless is hc don’t think you really need cta except maybe on a smiter.
