Toggling "Show loot"

The whole point for me in hiding the loot was to stop picking up crap. Then, when I’m done fighting… Toggle “show” and pick out what I want.

Currently, hiding loot doesn’t keep me from picking up crap… and filling my bags up with crap.

Every ARPG i’ve played, if the loot is hidden you can’t pick it up.

Is this working as intended?

Have I missed a setting somewhere?

If you phrased your response in a less inflammatory way, it would probably be received better. It is a good point, but who wants to read the dumpster fire you surrounded it with?

Even when not holding down the “show loot” key in D2C, I can still pick up items inadvertently. The only surefire way to not pick up items while playing is by typing /nopickup into chat and hitting enter. I suppose having that as a keybind would make things better for people that frequently need it, so that’s a QoL suggestion that the devs might look into at some point.

Awesome I’ll try this out thanks.

Be aware though that /nopickup does not prevent auto-pickup of gold if you have that enabled, but since it is auto-pickup, you needn’t worry about clicking on it unless it is a situation like inside the Arachnid Cavern or Spider Cave where the chest location prevents auto-pickup from working properly.

I’m just struggling like most with limited character loot space. I have my charms, and maybe room for two full sized items and a handfull of single slot items.

I’m melee so Im constantly right clicking. Wait a minute… could I remap pick up to a different Key?

I’m gonna go check that now.

Another I idea I just though of typing this is to purposely fill up my character inventory with crap and when I’m ready to loot something remove it.

Thanks for the reply TheTias.

Edit: I see no keybind for “item pick up” but can you (or anyone) tell me what “legacy toggle” is?

If you are using a controller, yes. You can set a button to be “loot” and only that. That way your skills won’t trigger picking up items. For KB/M mode though, there is currently no way to do this until the devs decide that they are willing to give KB/M users the controller skill bar (the current KB/M UI is dated and super archaic and hasn’t aged well, especially for those of us with arthritis after 20-40 years of gaming).

Legacy Toggle switches between the Resurrected graphics (the pretty modernized look) or the OG 800x600 4:3 pixelated graphics that are blown up and blurred to hell and back. Unless you like the original graphics more than the modernized graphics, you can delete the keybind for Legacy Toggle entirely so you don’t accidentally trigger it and have no loss in gameplay capability.

fair enough.

what i’d like is to not have to toggle it on every game… i’d like “always on” heh.

actually in settings you can change the characteristics of “show loot” you can have it timed, toggled or always on. CHECK IT OUT!

My issue here is, once hidden it can still be picked up.

looks like my client is broken then D:

i got
“hold”
“toggle”
“timed”

nothing else, no “always on”

and i agree, theres no point being able to pick up loot if item labels arent showing.

My bad, No “always on” as I mentioned,

But if you want the loot shown all the time, simple toggle it “shown” and leave it “shown”.

i have to toggle it back on every game tho. it resets to not being shown every new game.

not that big of a deal, but would be a nice lil QoL bump to have it always on in my case.

Thanks so much TheTias.

Loot is tags are hidden, AND can’t be picked up (if hidden).

I have the opposite problem on my amazon. I can’t pick up loot or open chests if I’m auto aiming at any mob in range.
