To Put Bots Into Perspective

My friend has a story to share about aoeah . co m.
My friend finished his season, but decided he wanted to make a dueling character. As many people know, in order to compete gear wise in the dueling scene you have to have very expensive items. These items are usually attained with forum gold or real life money.
Its kind of like owning a race horse.
Anyway, my friend wanted a full inventory of +elemental skills, +35 life grand charms to finish his dueling druid build off. It cost him about $20 on aoeah.
The time for delivery came (moments after purchase), and my friend only received two of the 8 charms.
My friend contacted customer support and was informed they were out of stock. He was allowed to use the remaining balance for other items, or he could wait until more came in stock. He opted to wait.
He contacted customer service two days later, and they had the 6 grand charms in stock.
That means they had enough bots running to acquire 6 +ele skills +35ish life grand charms in two days. TWO DAYS.
I just thought I’d share his story because it taught me how these websites do business and the scale of success that botting can provide.

Just imagine how much larger the scope of players that could complete in PvP if people couldn’t pay bot rings for the elite PvP gear… (As in, Blizzard had some magic that could stop them before they got their botting and item selling schemes started.) People would have to farm the items themselves or trade their way into owning the items.

Instead you have these dolphins and whales that compete by decking out their characters with their credit cards. Botting rings know these dolphins and whales will whip out the plastic, which keeps fueling the cycle.

Put the plastic down, folks. Play the friggin game. Stop paying bot rings to play the game for you.

Pipe dreams.

Even more reason for D4 to not have open trade. The amount of times op has openly shilled and advertised this site is rediculous on these forums and validates the fact that the pvp players are probably behind a good percentage of the botting and rmt.

I’d be open to trade restrictions…

  • Each item has up to 7 days to trade, then it’s soulbound.
  • 1 trade only per item. Once traded, it’s soulbound.
  • Able to freely trade amongst the players in the game when the item dropped without restrictions like in D3.
  • Trades are logged for analysis of trading patterns for tracking of trading sites, or otherwise evidence for any violations of the EULA/ToS.

The D3 method is fine, but the rest is still very rmt friendly. I’m liking my idea from the weekend more and more on D2R. Market board only, using currency tab items to set prices.

One factor you didn’t count for the speed in which the items were found is trading.

Sites will use jsp and others to trade or collect for what’s needed, so the speed at least in which they were found doesn’t equate to bot finding speed.

Finding grand charm flippers is easier.

But that being said it just can’t be d3 method, d4 hopefully is more relaxed tradewise.

It works in D3 because the drop rates are crazy high. D2 has such low drop rates that with restrictive trading it could take years to just get an enigma. If D4 drop rates are like D2 then they need open trading, if the D4 drop rates are like D3, I will pass as the game becomes silly like D3, 0-1000 paragon on the first day!

Well, you take a few philosophies. One being, perhaps you are not supposed to find or have everything in a given span of time. The high end runewords might be meant for those few select lucky ones. Excitement at building and farming what you find, as opposed to trade or pay plastic for.

Two, the ability to still trade for anything, but only on a market with runes, gems, keys, organs. Keeps credit card warriors at bay, though not botters.

Three, instance the loot to players in a party at the current rate players are taking advantage of in full games playing solo, but force that rate into parties only. Throw in the market board as the trade option, you remove most rmt, which in theory, should reduce the incentive to bot.

I’m not holding my breath though. D3s biggest problem is the constant difficulty scaling increasing drop rates. It’d be like if D2 could increase player count beyond 8 difficulty and at players 9 with 0 no drop, players 10 would drop an additional item, players 11 would drop 2 additional items, etc.

To make 10 people happy your pissing off thousand lol. Trading is like the biggest aspect imo, whats keeping it alive.
Blizz did a lazy job combatting bots, they jave the tool but only doing random wtf banwave. Imagine doing it just once a week

I think bots are the true endgame to diablo 2. It was when I was in high school but I haven’t found a pindle bot to use with d2r. It was great id turn the pindle bot on before school and come home to all kinds of wonderful wonderful loot.

Is this repost? I have seen this alresdy but topic is only 6 hours old.

Are you sure the “friend” inst actualy you? But i understand why you did say it like that ::grin:

Anyway skillers have nothing to do with being pvp item. Its nothing special for pvp and you definitely do not need to buy them from some lame rmt site.

Obviously because they are not only cheaters but also scammers who selling you something they dont have :joy:.

Well this statement doesnt make sense, i am 100% sure you can get ele skillers like that just by trading in game in two days. So how did you came to conclusion its bots? Skillers are freqently traded items.

Tell your “friend” that he is moron for supporting RMT site.

My friend told me he tried to trade for them legit on diablo. i o, discord, traderie, and on this website… couldn’t find a single one.

Well i dont belive it, he didnt try hard enough, i have checked and they are being normaly traded. Its not every day but they dudnt have them either.

Also every player who support rmt site like this means that these items are not in normal trades, so your friends makes it worse for everyone including him.

Idk man we are under the impression that they just have an army of bots finding them. Bots even completed the transaction, he told me.

skiller with +life are usually more important in PvP than in PvE.

The army of bots is finding random items they sell and trade for the items that are not in stock.

But usually +life skillers are traded on jsp. Because most PvP communities build around jsp.

You are such a liar dude… 16 days ago story was 4 charm, now its 2? LMAO shame on you.

So yeah, and if you will get idea to change old post i have screenshot it so dont bother to edit it.

Also on of you other posts:

You seemto be shilling for that RMT site a lot dude, shame on you twice, you keep mentioning in in many of your posts.

Stop making stuff up and stop supporting RMT, just go away…

Hey man I did mention it once before but I’m not trying to advertise for it.

In fact I stopped playing since I learned all this.

I did 1600 chaos runs, 500 countess, 700 summoner and nihilathak. I played the crap out of this game this season. I found 1ber, 2 sur, and a bunch of Los and ohms. Traded some good torches for Los+.

Got an infinity, enigma, and mid rolled griffons…. Spent so many hours…

It would have been more fun to just buy gear to play different classes and to pk people. Or to use a bot to get all the gear.

Furthermore there was such mystery in the game I wanted to.understand. People had enigmas and were selling things for multiple ber runes yet I didn’t have a single one. I had to figure out what I was missing. Was it just jsp? Nah. It’s bots and real $. Advertised — SPAMMED— on chat channels in bnet.

Ber runes are only 8 bucks. How could a precious ber rune only be worth 8 bucks??!! There’s an army of bots farming them.

Yeah sure you have only like 8 posts advertising it.

Why did your story change from last time? Because its made up right?

Not sure why I said 4…. the real number is 2.

The question persists: why are ber runes only 8 bucks??? Would you sell a ber rune for 8 bucks??? How about 20??? I’d need hundreds of $ to give up any ber I found.

Jeez I just looked they are only 4.29 now.
