I play SP and I currently have 2 Gul runes. I’m trying to make the must have endgame runewords - Enigma, Chains of Honor, Heart of the Oak, Call to Arms, Grief, and Infinity. I’ve already made a Fortitude for my Merc. My question is, should I cube the Guls into a Vex for HOTO, or is there something else I should save them for? Thanks!
If the HOTO is going to improve your killing speed, I’d say go for that, as it will make the future rune drops come faster.
The value of 2 Guls is basically equal to a Vex anyway.
If you’re worried about what you might miss out on creating due to a lack of Gul runes, I recommend taking another stroll through the runeword list.
There are 7 runewords that use Gul, including the new Mist runeword.

Definitely do it. I upgraded my first 2 Ber runes into a Jah rune to make my first faith 
What you will notice over time is you will end up accumulating these runes anyway, especially Um, Mal and Ists. You won’t miss those Gul runes long enough to regret upgrading.

Kingslayer and Fury look promising at some point, but the HOTO seems like a better choice for now due to its versatility among casters. Plus I figure I’ll probably come across some more Guls before I find a few Jahs.
I would do it, Gul doesnt have that much use.
