Tir El Rune word not working in Superior Spiked Club "Mace Class" weapon

Can you please fix this you have waisted my second Tir rune and ruined my character.

Edit: It was ethereal.

A club isn’t a mace… and a scepter isn’t a mace either.
Sword, Axe, Maces only

It also didn’t ruin your char. Tir and El can easily be found. 2os bases can easily be bought, on top it’s lowtier item, like the lowest you can put in a weapon…

From the Arreat Summit:

Maces = Mace, Morning Star, Flail, and Exceptional/Elite versions. This does not include any other types of Maces. Make sure you read about Hammers above. They are not “maces” in the case of Runewords.

Normal : Mace, Morning Star, Flail
Exceptional : Flanged Mace, Jagged Star, Knout
Elite : Reinforced Mace, Devil Star, Scourge

It’d be really nice if they’d reword the weapon classes in game to make it more obvious. Because yes, it is confusing especially for newer players. “Club class, Mace class, Hammer class”

Yeah, Spiked Club is a Club based weapon despite it being in the Mace family. The only true Maces are Mace, Morning Star and Flail(along with their Exceptional/Elite equivalents). Hammers are also not “maces” despite them being classified as such. Hammers are War Hammer, Maul and Great Maul.

Furthermore, an Ethereal runeword without repair/indestructible will eventually break so you were going to waste those runes anyway.

" waisted my second Tir" dude I trip over these runes every game I play what’s the biggie… and like every post above … use the right class weapon.

To be fair, making Steel in a normal ethereal weapon is better than non-ethereal, because even though it will eventually break, the +50% damage boost helps you progress farther, which by that time it breaks you’ll likely find or have enough gold to vendor/gamble a better weapon anyway.

Tirs and Els are so common anyway, losing them doesn’t really matter. (Yes, I know you were responding to OP saying he wasted the runes.)

Did you put your Tir in the potion slot when you “waisted” it?
