Tips for teleporting to Baal?

I’m a sorceress and sometimes people want me to teleport to Baal, but I’ve never done it before. Anyone have any tips? I currently have 70% fcr. Should I get 105% fcr to do it? Also, I’m using a controller. Do I need to use a mouse and keyboard?

I tele to Baal no issue all the time. You want 105 fcr, 75 lightning resist, and a good fhr.

I have good gear now, but when I had budget gear I used a wizard spike socketed with a hel on switch for teleporting.

I find teleporting with the controller much easier than mouse and keyboard, which goes against what I thought initially since I had a 92 blizz sorc and a 90 lightning sorc in the original d2.

When you enter the worldstone keep lvl 2 waypoint, turn right and follow the wall. Most of the time that will be the fastest way to get to level 3.

I never die teleporting to Baal. I am currently halfway to level 91 and would not teleport there if I thought there was risk of death and losing 4 hours of experience.

You just need the correct gear.

Verified and helpful: when you enter level 2 waypoint look the pattern of the red minimap area (first visible map block). The exit map block will be 90° to right.
That can help you decide wether taking a path or not because you know if the exit is possible or not there.

One last tip, tele deep into the throne room and usually the safest spot for a portal is lower right of Baal, however if there are gloams and dolls it is better to show some etiquette and tele back to level 3.

Then you can fight as a group to the throne room.

As a assassin i simply use cloak of shadow and disable every single mob in throne room. always complete safe

Yup. In the worldstone keep always turn to your character’s right, if possible. It won’t work every time, but it will work more often than not. Also, you really do need to hit the 105 FCR breakpoint. Dying because a pack of angry jerks spat at you while you were trying to cast teleport is… deeply unsettling.

105fcr. Nothing less is worth trying.
Don’t stop. Immobility is the sorc killer.

Wsk2, turn right of way point. WSK3 IS RANDOM.
Always ask for Battle orders, if it’s available.
Don’t tele with mf gear. Prioritize resists and life.

  • Keep map open and look for the red on it (it represents the chasm). This will help you determine where you’re going to tp next as well,
  • Try to pay attention where you’re tping. Try not to land in the middle of a mob,
  • Make sure your Light resistances are not in the negatives,
  • Bring mana potions if you have mana problems,
  • Town Portal before entering Throne of destruction. Let somebody tankier than you go down to make sure it’s a clear entrance.
  • make sure you have a lot of HP to take a couple of hits

Unless you know for a fact that you can clear the Throne of Destruction on your own with 8 ppl, I would refrain from ever going at it alone. Most ppl are willing to help you as long as you can get them to the Throne of Destruction without walking the entire distance.

Unless he’s walking with decent items, which OP sounds like he’s not, this is good advice so your sacarsm is not needed.

If there are monsters at the entrance of the stairs, a sorceress could easily die if she isn’t high level or well equipped or runs in to their immunities. So if OP is the only person capable of teleporting then this is a good strategy than just simply not doing it at all or just waiting. If he can clear on his own, then he can easily skip this step, but I doubt he could with 7 other ppl in game.
