Tips for mosaicsin

Hey people, I’ve been playing mosaicsin this league for a lot, I got level 99 and I’m sitting on 142 ladder position playing exclusively in terrorzones (with a full time job) and I can say it’s one of the best and most powerful builds. It hurts me to see people not knowing how to use it though, so here are some tips for you.

  1. Use Claws of Thunder. NHD between skills have been fixed, CoT is probably the second best charger, after PS’s chain lightning.
  2. Phoenix strike’s chain lightning is infinitely better than chaos ice bolts. Not only it deals much more damage, but it has much more coverage and the lightning is much faster, so it hits more enemies than the ice bolts.
  3. Be smart about your charging up. For example, rocky waste has significantly less lightning immunes than stony tomb, so what you can do is clear rocky waste with chain lightning and then charge up your phoenix strike to chaos ice bolts for stony tomb. This won’t make that much difference due to how bad the coverage and damage of ice bolts is, but it’s better than hitting lightning immunes with lightning damage, UNLESS you have a griffon’s eye + lightning sunder + infinity setup.
  4. Don’t use Phoenix strike’s meteor charge. There’s no need, really. Your melee, single target damage is covered by blades of ice and fists of fire (which I’ll get back to in the next tip) and the meteor has insane land delay and really small aoe. It’s great against bosses that aren’t fire immune, but even then it’s not necessary.
  5. Fists of fire is great, but with a catch. Fists of fire will convert your physical damage to fire at a rate of ~3% per point invested, so at level 33 of fists of fire, you will not deal physical damage anymore. This is bad, obviously, because you won’t leech anymore, so what you can do is put ~27-30 points into fists of fire (as many as you’re comfortable with) and use it alongside tiger strike (as you should anyway). A large portion of that physical will get converted to fire damage and (I’m not sure) the physical damage will be dealt in an aoe (again, needs citation), while the small portion of physical damage that doesn’t get converted will be enough to leech for you. This, combined with infinity, will destroy non-fire immune monsters.
  6. (Tips for the rich kids) I’ve been playing with shako because the extra mf is nice, but you can pick up a griffon’s eye, socket it with a 5/5 lightning facet, pick up a lightning sunder and along with an infinity merc, you will be able to destroy any enemy in the game, lightning immune or not, with PS’s chain lightning. The problem is that you’ll have to find additional lightning resistance to make up for the sunder charm on places like gloves, charms etc.
  7. In combat, always go for the lightning immunes / boss packs. If you kill the lightning immunes, the other enemies will die to phoenix strike chain lightning anyway, so it’s a two birds with one stone scenario.

I might have missed some tips, let me know if my info is erroneous in any place.

Hey. Thanks for the tips.

What general charge rotation priority do you recommend to start with. With all the charge ups I could use advice on what to start with.

Anyone?

This needs an update. Nhd doesnt cross affect cot and ps now.

Cot and meteor charge of ps is a viable combo.

There is no fix best combo. Use the best combo for the situation.

All right. I usually start charging the physicals (cobra and tiger strike, followed by PS and finally the 3 elementals, full fire; full cold and 1 of thunder.) Don’t know if that’s an okey order.

Thanks for helping though.

Yeah, that’s great because it allows you to leech in case things get nasty before you charge up the elemental ones.

I’ll update OP to address NHD.
