Im not even sure why they have shrines in the Chaos Sanctuary, they last 2 seconds before a curse removes them LOL.
Time to make their effects permanent for their duration or until another shrine is clicked on.
While were at it, add some more shrines to the mix!
Shrine of MF, Shrines giving various aura for their duration, charm shrine… just get creative, add some more in that are Terror Zones specific.
What other shrines could they add?

Agreed, but I do like being able to click on a shrine to remove a bad curse. Not sure if I’d trade that for a permanent 2 minute effect that doesn’t really add much.

No reason why that doesnt still happen? Just sac the shrine you have, click another to remove the bad curse, or live with the curse if you have a shrine you want to keep.

I think there should at least be some added rules for being cursed with active shrine effects. (PvM only) Something along the lines of:
Normal: Shrine effect can’t be overridden by a curse for the entire duration.
Nightmare: Shrine effect can’t be overridden by a curse until after 66% total duration has passed.
Hell: Shrine effect can’t be overridden by a curse until after 33% total duration has passed.
Items that extend shrine time would make that interesting, too. Like a charm that adds 60 sec to shrine effects. You could use that in hell to counter your rule at the sacrifice of inventory space. D3 has items like that and they are very popular even though they are generally a dps loss. Now they can be worn on followers and the effects are shared with players so it’s not a big choice anymore to wear them.
Yeah I assumed it would go both ways, that they couldn’t overwrite each other.
They could put the buff on your ui instead of your head and leave curses for overhead.
Hardcore Shrine: For the duration, Softcore characters die permanently if they are killed.
Hardcore Shrine in Hardcore mode: For the duration, Hardcore characters may revive if they are killed.
Why is that? Are you a Oblivian Knight from the CS?
i totally support this idea but…
…what about this:
“buff shrines last for five games or until death or another one is activated”
I dont think we need to go that extreme… There is nothing wrong with the current duration, IMO anyways, could they be longer, sure but the biggest gripe is they are so easily wiped by the curses.
I say we start with that.
the problem is that games hardly last more than 4 min so even with the original idea, 4 min still is lackluster
maybe lasting for 3 games is more balanced
Not that many players go for the repeat-rush game. A lot more than you imagine spend a decent amount of time ingame. I could go with increased duration, but having it last multiple games would definitely be overkill.

Yeah I def agree, it should not carry over game to game.
they should make it so you can clear chaos with only potions
im sure most of those who try to farm optimally do exactly that
why? bc the math has already been done multiple times
thats basically the end game
i know some do but we cant call them “efficient players” do we?
i mean…repeat pindle 10k, trav 10k times, baal 5k, nm andy 5k and so on
no amount of time in a single game with any shrine can beat the efficiency on classic farm strategies
whats the reference here?
besides, asking for perm shrine wont do much bc most of them already last for over 3 min, enough for almost all know run routes
While we’re talking about curses, enemies shouldn’t have Decrepify, because it’s obtusely punishing for melee/IAS builds. Frozen aura enemies are the same type of problem; “cannot be frozen” but I’m still blue and slow, neat. Effects in this game that nuke IAS, without any way to counter it, need to stripped off of enemies. It just makes melee builds that much worse at the game.
or we could make these affect fcr too

There’s a difference bewteen things that make the game more dangerous for your character and things that make it more obnoxious. FCR and IAS breakpoints are already a massive pain to optimize, effects that dump all over that make the game tedious rather than challenging.

I am not convinced it’s healthy to base this kind of change on “efficient players”.
Having this kind of permanency for shrines alters fundamentally the gameplay for everyone, whether it is players that take their time that now get to systematically fight everything with the optimal shrine buff for the build, or players that try to rush that now have to play around keeping a strong buff active at all times during runs, and possibly players being kicked for not entering games with an active buff.
I disagree when it comes to the monsters that cast this spell when in melee, as you can easily avoid it through normal gameplay.
It is very annoying in the Throne of Destruction, though, as Baal just casts it whenever you get into his range, that is to say every time you engage the mobs as a melee character.
